Do it is possible to have custom fonts in internet from Mac fonts?

I have Mac app called Font Book and I can put custom fonts in there and use it with microsoft word and text edit. But do it is possible to use it in internet and in this forum?

It is possible to insert a custum font in the FONT-tags, but only people with the same font installed will see it.

You can use it on a webpage, but you need to link to the font from CSS.

Yes, but Wingdings doesn't contain letters, so you will only see squares.

BTW, why do we need a custom tag when we can use the FONT-tag already?

I was thinking IP.Board, which doesn't allow any additional Fonts in the FONT Tags, but it still allows Custom Fonts to be installed, using Custom Tags and CSS.
