Another thing that probably hasn't been brought up for a year or two is that they left the "64" in Super Mario 64 DS... The name is incredibly unoriginal.

The year is 2398, and Nintendo has just release the Nintendo Lii III(that "Lee The Third". On it, people are playing Super Mario 64 DS Wii II Gamegear Super Nintendo Lolboard Ultrawalker on virtual console...
LOL.
At a rate like this, I think they would've released about... 1 EarthBound game in Europe.
Nope. Just nope. No way. They'd rather make 12 remake-remake-remakes of triple remakes for an adaptation of Mario 64 than Earthbound.
I meant that they can make both.
In other words...

Nintendo keeps its own favorite series up. That's why there's so many Mario games...

And that's why Earthbound isn't in the VC, Reggie hates Mother.

But Earthbound is so hyped up that everyone would buy it before half of them remembered that they hate RPGs.

I agree, but it could end up as yet another game with cameos of guys from Mario games...

Don't get me started on "Rayman DS"!
I was too good for that! :posh:
What are you talking about? Rayman 2 was an awesome game, and unless they ruined the controls or something, Rayman DS should be just as good.

Rayman 2 was awesome.:) They f**ked up the controlls and graphics on DS-
THAT MADE IT BAD!
It's one of those direct-port balderdashes! :posh:

Good thing I never got it then. :)

Here´s one person that LOVED SM64 DS. Seriously, the stick provided a soft and comfortable control, but although the non-stick based controls on SM64 DS are A LITTLE worse, it´s not that big of a deal to consider the game a disgrace to the series. Heck, the control scheme is the same as SMW, with a running button and the D-Pad, and one can get used to it too. The stylus controls was also nice but in my modest opinion, D-pad + Y button to run was Good.

Also, having re-played both versions at once, they are practically different games, so both are worth playing. Not only does SM64 DS have 30 new stars, but it also has a lot of new sections (like the whole bottom side of Whomp´s fortress) and a lot of the missions themselves are new (silver star ones, stars that change locations or add new elements , etc). Also, it has some new stages, although all of them are sub-stages. And the added final bosses were a great touch too.

Oh, and who can forget the Super Shroom which granted the ability to destroy even the freaking decoration (such as the arrow signals), or the 3 new characters to play as? woah, I can play as Weegee in SM64? screw hacks, DS one rocks.

Sometimes I also am a little purist, but it has more than enough new content to be worth buying, and in my opinion, the controls aren´t nearly as horrible as everyone says.

In my opinion, it´s a must buy for the DS.

Diddy Kong Racing... it´s nice, but lowering the difficulty that much... was just "meh". The new tracks don´t make for it, although being able to play as Wizpig and Taj, and the option to make your own tracks is cool. In general DKR DS is not worth buying if you have the original 64 one.

A little off topic: is it me or there aren´t any other racing games apart from DKR DS and Mario Kart DS? I like both of them but none of them were "great". I know you may hate me for saying I don´t consider MKDS a great game just after defending SM64 DS, but the paper-cut items, the poor character roster (only 12? Mario Basket has 21!!!), and the extremely overpowered cars (egg-1 and dry bomber, especially when snaking) killed the fun a little. I still like it but I prefer the GCN and Wii, even if those also have some flaws.

Come on, in n64 we got DKR, MK64, and F-Zero X, GCN got MKDD, F-Zero GX and Sonic Riders, and Wii got the second riders, MK Wii, and the average but somewhat likeable DK jet race (which I like, even if it has a ton of flaws). Heck, even GBA got THREE F-Zero games and a Mario Kart game. What is on DS? I think only an F-Zero game can save it´s racing game roster.

And, in case you think it, I´m NOT attacking the DS (for example, GCN also had close to none Tennis games and I´m not attacking it either), I just felt like telling you this because I would like to see some more racing games on the DS :-[

is anyone else surprised they haven't made Ocarina of Time DS?

It's the best Zelda game ever.

Not just "some good game."

Blasphemer.
Best Zelda game ever? I wouldn't go that far. But yes, it was good.

Majora's Mask was not better.
I'm not saying that.

OoT was indeed the best Zelda game ever. In fact, it's considered by most to the best game ever created, period.

Not by me, though. I really don't have an opinion on the best game ever.

Then what was better?
Well, seeing as how neither of us has ever played every Zelda game, I doubt either of us is qualified to make such a decision, but Minish Cap was pretty good and Wind Waker was genius.

Keep in mind I am NOT saying OoT is a bad game, but saying it's the best in the entire series is a bit overboard.

But it's the truth.

I would want Nintendo to remake PM, if not for my utter lack of confidence in Nintendo to make a good game anymore.

They would probably make the whole thing touch controlled or something.

Basically, I want pretty much an exact (as exact as an N64 port on the DS can be) replica, N64 graphics and all.

They could probably add some touch based minigames into the underground casino to satisfy all the idiots who feel like the touch screen must be used in every game just because it's there.
