Seriously, Pikachu's not a popular Pokemon considering how many haters it has.
 
IMO Pikachu gets mixed feelings; I've seen many people hate on it and many people who love Pikachu. =P

Also I hate Gliscor with a passion. STOP STALLING DAMMIT

Even so, Pikachu's the only Pokemon where I've seen haters draw some rather graphic pictures. I've never seen any other Pokemon receive that much hate.

Wouldn't be so bad if it could actually learn Fly.
 
well you gotta consider that people get turned on by graphic images too, so it could not be hate.

Also gliscor doesnt need fly, he's way too badass anyway.

Then again i dont like fly to begin with.
 
If Pikachu were really unpopular, it wouldn't be the mascot of the series.

It was only the mascot in Yellow. All the other games it was just another Pokemon. You want one, catch one. You don't want one, leave them be.

Otherwise it only gets represented in Super Smash Bros. and the anime.
 
Quick! Name a Pokémon! Almost every non-gamer will say Pikachu.

That wouldn't be the case if Pikachu was not the face of Pokémon.

it's the main character in the series
it has it's own game
when they promoted pokemon they did it using a bus with a pikachu on it
pikachu is in every single pokemon game (except black initially)
Pikachu has the most special pictures in pokemon snap
Pikachu has it's own game (it's called hey, you Pikachu)
Pikachu is one of the main pokemon in each pokemon manga's
Nintendo hands out special pikachus
they ma de one of those portable pokemon things entirely off of pikachu
 
I'm not a huge fan of Pikachu but it's definitely one of the better-deigned mons. Just look at Dedenne for how they could have failed with Pikachu's design.

  • One of the most popular, just ask someone to name a Pokemon/what their favorite Pokemon is if they've never played - they'll answer Pikachu
Hmph. Definitely not popular.
Haters /=/ no popularity, in fact, if there's a large amount of people in both sides, then it's still extremely popular if all the haters talk about is how they hate Pikachu.
Also, I don't even see how Pikachu even has haters.
 
i don't see what's wrong with pikachu

i mean he's not excellent at battling and he's really overrated, but that doesn't make him bad
 
I've known a ton of people who dislike Pikachu just because he's popular-- or at least the mascot of the series. I think he's really cute, though, but maybe that's just me!

(Also, I could never get behind why everyone falls apart when they see Gardevoir. Never really cared for the Ralts line, I guess.)

Yup, in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Pokemon is generic and rehashed to death, so yeah, Mewtwo represents that.
