I sent my present in literally 20 minutes after I signed up. :3

So I got my part covered.
that's not a good thing
now we know you didnt care enough for the person to even give him a personalized gift

Re: Marioboards Secret Santa!

Well, sorry. I would've forgotten if I hadn't done so.

And if you really don't like it, then remove me from this.

I worked hard on it, so it seems you don't care.

Re: Marioboards Secret Santa!

Its not that we don't care
Its just the idea is to come up with a gift based on what the reciever likes or something personalised rather than what you like/something general.

don't try to shift the blame onto us. when you give a gift, you're supposed to put meaning into it so that the person who receives it feels well. if you try to just make a picture and don't care about whether the particular receiver will like it or not, then you lose the meaning

Re: Marioboards Secret Santa!

Isn't lecturing someone on how their gift is "bad" and "meaningless" also something that goes against the spirit of secret santa? I mean personalized gifts are neat, but you can't really call someone out for trying to make a gift to the best of their abilities and it not meeting some implied standard that wasn't mentioned in the rules.

Accusing them of not caring goes a bit far here. If I didn't care, I would either not make a gift at all or slap together a really shitty one in two minutes. As long as that is not what is happening, accusations are unnecessary.

Though I have to admit shifting blame IS bad.

Anyway, I'll participate.

Re: Marioboards Secret Santa!

Honestly, I think I might have to remove Rin from the signups if she's not going to be around to receive her present. Like... idk, I don't really want to have someone go to the trouble of making someone a gift if they won't be around to see it, unless she comes back again.

Re: Marioboards Secret Santa!

Well Rin already submitted their gift (whether 'meaningful' or not) so it would be unfair, in my eyes, for her not to receive one back.

Well, she came back again, so you shouldn't have to do that.

Re: Marioboards Secret Santa!

Do I have to know who I am giving the gift to or do I have to make the gift and not expect who I get?

Re: Marioboards Secret Santa!

Yes, you will know who you are giving the gift to later on (hopefully tonight) before you make it. That was, you know, sort of listed in the rules...? Maybe it'd be a good idea to thoroughly read them before going through with this.

Re: Marioboards Secret Santa!

Yeah, I guess I just kind of didn't understand that part. >_< I'm a naturally fast reader, so I must have missed it or something. :P

But, mine's already entered, so I guess that's that. :P

Also, sorry for trying to shift blame. I was overreacting and I didn't really mean it. :-\

so now i'm actually sending out the names, i'm dropping out again signing up again and i had to remove mcs from the list because he wasn't flexible enough with his gifts

Okay, I sent out PMs to everyone on the signup list. You can post your interests still (if you haven't already).

I ended up removing Rin from the list since she left again.

I'm really terrified of disappointment :[

The person wants really vague stuff. How am I supposed to know if the user, you know... ALREADY has it?

Maybe I'll supplement a drawing with it JUST IN CASE.

Send Turboo a PM about it, then. I got more specifics so I know what to make for my secret Santa person

Welp, I got it out of the way because it's like a dark cloud: it's like being in school all over again (except much better)

I didn't spend too long on it, but eh, I put love, care, and some research into it (besides, I draw at a quick rate because I have tons and tons of experience with drawing characters *cough*50 thousand Baby Luigis*cough*).

Removed Gonzales Kart from the list because he's on hiatus. Honestly considering banning him since he left both me and the person who was assigned to get a gift for him hanging and didn't tell us anything about him leaving (nor did he give a reason when actually posting the hiatus message), but I guess that might have to wait until the event is over

I don't use Steam, I don't give out address and I use PSN and eShop

I don't need gifts right now until somebody really want to
