yes, because people leave their equipment behind on the beach all the time

i mean sure littering happens but no one abandons their rather expensive furniture on the beach

well, some people live on the beach, but I do get what your saying there
resorts and hotels often leave their furniture out to be used at night, many of these facilities were built on turtle nesting grounds

i don't know, some people can be rather forgetful when it comes to their personal belongings.

back when my family lived near the jersey shore, i remember my uncle collected stuff like that. he found a tv once.

Canadians leave crap like that everywhere just out of spite for the city
like on street corners people will pill up old tv's and electronics and leave rude notes regarding the cities disposal policies

That's proven BS: visible light gives out more radiation than microwaves

Guys, stay on-topic. Now let me put my input.

that's also my position
if we format all the roads especially so that cars can drive themselves (essentially like everyone owning their own miniature bus) then manually driven cars become a danger, or even having the option could be a danger, a car driving itself would not stop drunk driving for example, because the drunk person would probably steal the wheel away from the car and kill someone with their stupidity
I know for a fact that this issue has came up before (not here), and I'm pretty sure that there will be a fail-safe device. What is it you ask? Well I remember a while back some lab or company were working on a computer software that will be built-into the car that allows that car-computer to detect the amount of alcohol in the driver's breathe so it will lock all systems from working (ignition won't budge, steering wheel will lock, transmission will lock, etc.) and I'm pretty sure it will be integrated into auto-pilot cars, i.e. preventing manual over-drive by a drunk.

also about off road driving
a)bad for the environment, should only be done in designated off road driving tracks, and never on beaches
b)people could just buy a designated off road vehicle, most off road vehicles already aren't street legal, these designated vehicles would be driven manually, and not be street legal
I do agree about the beach. But I don't agree with designated off-road areas ("track" is the incorrect term, a track is a maintained road for driving/racing) because the whole point of off-road driving is to go wherever on natural, weathered, uneven grounds, not maintained ones. But I do believe there should be places that are okay to off-road drive into, and others that such is prohibited (like nature reserves). And I'm pretty sure that by the time auto-piloted cars come out, electric off-road vehicles will be out to... actually I just looked on Google and there are already electric off-road vehicles. That part you say about most off-road vehicles aren't street-legal, I believe you missed something, earlier there was a question of whether or not sometime in the future humans will be banned from driving, and I pointed out that off-road vehicles require a human to drive it.

It's hard to enjoy driving when you need to remind yourself that you're driving what is essentially a killer on wheels.

Plus, I get distracted, even when I'm supposed to be super-focused while playing Mario Kart. Heck, I drove into a curb in the parking lot because I was distracted. That might get to me one day.
You're giving yourself self-inflicted stress man.

People may we please make this clear. DO NOT compare playing Mario Kart and driving in real life as equivalents! (That's like saying you know how a real gun feel because you played an arcade FPS) Driving a real car is a whole different league from playing racing games.

LGM, I will also like to ask you these questions: How long have you been driving? And what kinds of roads are you driving on (residential, commercial, highway)?

Did anybody in this thread brought up Google's self-driven cars? The first time Google let them out on a city (I think about 30 of them went out) none of them went into an accident except one, but it was rear-ended so technically it wasn't its fault.

I can respect that, I can also respect that all I know about off roading comes from an ecological perspective and therefore not much

also thats interesting about the google cars, where was this?

I'VE HAD ALTOGETHER ENOUGH OF TALKING ABOUT DRIVING WITH PEOPLE WHO DON'T EVEN DRIVE

I believe it was in Texas or Nevada they were tested at. And this was back before 2010!

Here's a video from AOTS (remember that?) talking about it:

Yeah, it is rather frustrating talking about driving to inexperienced drivers who think their little experience is equivalent to our's and have some kind of foresight bias based on their rookie training. Except I'm not talking about you Deception; I do know that there is an environmental issue with off-road driving, but here is not the place to discuss about it. And for the record, I've been driving for 5 years (officially, licensed, 1 year).

I'd like to drive ASAP but finance issues with insurance is what holding me back T~T

I'm not insured for the entire 5 years of driving on the road to this day. I have been complimented by others to being a really safe driver. But that's my situation, it will be wise to get insured.

In California, it's required by law to get insured

Well, I know for sure my parents aren't taking any chances (they're already insuring my brother and only one person in my household works)

It's the same deal here with that it is about the financial issues of why I'm not insured. Plus, I'm not going to wait around; I need to drive my mom around for errands.

i realize that there are some people on the other side (such as you) who actually do drive, but it's ridiculous to be arguing about it with people who don't drive

do you have anything to say on this topic? because your opinion actually has merit
