Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Unlocking Grand Finale Galaxy

Hello.

I have a question about unlocking the Grand Finale Galaxy in SMG2. Sorry to be creating a thread about an old game. I've had it since it came out, but I'm only now trying to complete it.

I just unlocked the Green Stars today, and obtained the first seven or so with Mario. But from what I've read online, some people make it sound like you need to obtain all the Green Stars with Luigi to unlock the Grand Finale Galaxy. Is this true? Will I still be able to unlock the Grand Finale Galaxy even though I got some of the Green Stars with Mario?

I'll appreciate any feedback I can get.

if you mean grandmaster (grand finale was in smg1), i don't recall being barred access and i'm pretty sure i got at least some portion of the green stars with mario, so i'd say you're fine
 
No. It does not matter who you collected the green stars with. As long as you have all of them you're fine
