We put gifts for non-family members under the tree then give them to them sometime after Christmas. It doesn't make sense but it doesn't bother me.

My parents give me a money limit and choose what to buy so I already know my presents. They could put a little effort into hiding it though, it's literally sitting on a desk in their room in the packaging it came in. Genius.
