Who Do You Side With? (Politically)

The Pro Evolution people say that it is a scientifically proven fact. And people who don't like it say that there are no facts in science. Only theories. But a scientific theory is different than theory in every day usage. Gravity is a theory. Germ theory of medicine is a theory.

But I guess you could still say not EVERYTHING that is a scientific theory is a "proven". String Theory and Multiverse Theory for example. That is where it gets confusing.

Ok. There you go. String Theory is a scientific theory but it is not proven. So why do certain Christians have to be mocked and called stupid for disagreeing with a theory? I'm not saying I don't believe in evolution. I really dunno if all or parts of it are true. I simply don't know enough about evolution to draw a certain conclusion. I'm just saying, there are creation scientists. And one in four scientists believe there is a God, so that means if scientific opinion is to be held in highest regard, there is at least a 25 percent chance that there is a God.

I tend to try to be as open-minded as I can be (lol, and it said I was 72% Republican, right?), and so I am with Javelin about the evolution stuff, even though I am a christian. One thing is to respect other people's beliefs, but of course, that doesn't always happen.

The one thing that does bother me is Abortion. Sorry LGM, but I would have hated if I or one of my sisters had been aborted, just because my mom was afraid should wouldn't be able to handle us while still being in high school/college. I know that a big chunk of the argument is in when does one count when one's life starts (conception, 1st trimester, 2nd, 3rd, birth, etc.), but I still wouldn't want my life to have been ended because of someone else's hands, and not be able to be what I am. I love my life, and I love the fact that I can share my life with others and be friends with others and be able to influence and share things that others don't have. I mean, yeah, life without me wouldn't affect much, as you would simply have never known me, but still, I'm sure that I made a small impact on some of your guys' lives. I definitely can understand it if it is in a dire situation such as the baby is killing the mother, and for extreme situations, but all I know is that I just know that there was so much potential for that person. Honestly, the outcome of the person - in my opinion - is highly on their environment, and I do feel bad for the kids that are just given away/left on the streets instead of given a nice home and stuff. But again, I would rather have my own decision about my own life rather than have the fact that I might be screwed up because of my parents/the amount of money/given up to foster homes/et cetera and let something like that happen. I don't really know many people that have abortions personally, but I know that many people that do usually end up having guilt issues and depression from it, because some do end up regretting that decision.

I'm very sorry that I went on this rant. I didn't mean to get so politically charged. Agree/disagree, but please, let's not make a feud out of this.

Pretty much per that girl. I think it should be legalized recreationally and as something doctors can prescribe to patients.

The problem with that reasoning is that some of those scientists go in beginning with the conclusion that God exists, so any "scientific opinion" used by those scientists as justification for the existence of God tend to be largely dependent on confirmation bias, and even if they weren't, science does nothing toward proving or disproving the existence of a particular god.
