nothing will probably happen here, maybe some flurries or something but thats it.

Not sure if i should be glad or sad though.

shit's started to pick up where I am

no blizzards, just hard rain and wind enough to set off a car alarm in my street

Same here, I don't have school. First time they ever announced it beforehand, so it's gotta be really bad tomorrow.

Man, I heard about this, I hope you are all safe! Apparently some areas are colder than the north pole, which is ridiculous.

So, like, what do you do when you're threatened by a blizzard? Do you stay indoors and try to keep warm, or do you flee somehow (cars)? I guess the extreme equivalent natural disasters here are bushfires and emergency services always tell people to get out when threatened, but in a blizzard I'd imagine that's really difficult due to all the snow obstructing the roads and your vision.

In small-area blizzards a lot of people do flee but in this case more than half of North America is affected so it would be pointless now. I don't think (or at least where I live) snow is a major problem, but more the wind chill, like -50F can cause hypothermia within five minutes. So staying inside is the best option, unless the power goes out...then in which case you're screwed unless you can get to a place with heating.

News just said tomorrow's high would be 8*F. Surely not as bad as some of you are getting, but still.

My school only has one working boiler room since Sandy happened, and they don't have enough powe to heat the whole school, so I'm off tomorrow.

-12 degrees is like an every day thing for me here in Devon

cumon step it up
grobba go fas

nah but seriously, hope you guys are alright, stay inside and stay warm, maybe Skype with your schools and stuff to make sure you don't miss out on any work, and, yeah, hopefully the blizzard will pass over you soon, maybe swiftly enough that you can go out and build a snowman :D

wish I had snow :(
