everybody at school calls me sheldon
its so fucking annoying i swear

My brother and I honestly are a bit like Sheldon, but not as extreme, and those who made the comparisons are the ones who don't laugh at him or us, so we've never minded the comparison. I even liked how there was an asexual Aspie character that I could relate to in mainstream media... until he got a girlfriend and the fact that he's not interested in the messy stuff became both a daily punchline and a shortcoming for him to overcome. The only thing worse than the belittling of asexuality as a lifestyle is how straight Raj's gay tendencies are used as nothing but a constant stream of disparaging jokes. It's not the geeks that should resent the show for making fun of them - it's the LGBT community, srsly.

Speaking of LGBT, it's fun fact time!

Jim Parsons, actor who plays Sheldon, is openly gay.

This has been fun fact time!

But yeah, my feelings for this show are summed up in the previous posts.

The writers refuse to say in order to keep it more universal (plus, not committing to a specific diagnosis frees them to do whatever they want with him without having to worry about inaccuracies or getting accused of misrepresenting/exploiting/whatever a specific group), but it's essentially Asperger's - even Jim Parsons says so.

hmm i liked the first 3 seasons, after that though it got kinda stale to me.

Although i do enjoy the characters even still.

made by the same guy who made two and a half men

expect obscure humour, canned laughter at every single movement, unfunny jokes, and sex scenes to go
