tbh my parents should just buy a chromebook seeing as my mother and sister only use the ipad to go on the internet

You should tell them that it's over-priced crap and they'll save money buying a different, far superior product that doesn't use brand names to justify the price

psssst, you should tell him that there are some less popular and cheaper brands out there that make far superior products.

You can also tell him to build computers himself.. You save a lot of money building computers yourself and choosing your components, and the result can even be far superior to pre-built ones.

i want to build my own computer, but as i said, my father is extremely cheap and refuses to pay more than $300 for a computer

chromebooks aren't meant to be good. they're budget laptops intended to be cheap but functional. for the price, they're pretty useful, really
