is this taking into account traditionally animated movies (2D) and stop-motion?

this topic has done something i didnt expect

more *bleep*ing about cars and less excitement for the incredibles 2

what a fine way to pass the time
Well, because the rest of the Internet seemed more excited about The Incredibles 2, I figured that reminding that there's also going to be a Cars 3 would help keep in mind what direction Pixar's going. I mean, yeah, I'm excited that they're making a sequel to the one movie they made that was actually OPEN to a sequel, but I'm also disappointed that they have such a focus on sequels these days.

i don't think stop motion is that much harder than 2D or 3D animation
Stop-motion requires you to take a picture of a scene, then going it, move the figures or scenery EVER so slighty, taking a picture of THAT, then repeating that process about 1000+ times... actually, that's far less then what the average stop-motion picture would need. Sure hand-drawn stuff requires almost as many frames, and unlike everyone else, I totally understand that computer-generated animation isn't as easy as people make it sound, but something about bending over and being careful not to mess up the tiny figures and sets while moving them the way you want them to go just sounds like a lot more work.

I was actually somewhat expecting this.

So does anyone think thisll be like 20 years later because I think so. Like everyones all old and stuff.

Also Incredibles NEEDS A PREQUEL LIKE RIGHT NOW!

The intro was pretty much the prequel, though. Although it would work. It just wouldn't be that special.

1000 frames would actually result in around 50-100 seconds of film.

Doesn't the Lego Movie sort of qualify as a stopmotion?

actually, no. it's all digital animation, but is made to look like stopmotion by dropping the frame rate

they get bonus points because it looks like a bunch of the lego stopmotion youtube videos i used to watch as a kid

So... partially? Digital stopmotion?

It's all digital. It just looks like stopmotion.

Like, everything in that movie could be done with actual LEGOs if you had infinite time.

I know what you're talking about. But since they emulated stop motion, then... maybe you can call it "Emulated stop-motion"? I mean... that's a pretty interesting take on an animated movie.

have you seen the iron giant? that's made by the director of ratatouille and the incredibles, and it's a really good 2d animated movie

also, watch coraline. that's stop-motion. it's one of my favorite movies and one of the few movies that actually justifies the book its based on

well at least i can gather your taste isnt total crap, since you got kung fu panda series on there.

although no lion king is a bit disappointing, not like it matters since that's just your opinion to begin with.
