Look, I just don't think Ridley fits into the game! He's cool, but will probally be an Assist Trophy at the most. And Bowser is much smaller then Ridley in the games he is in. (Except Mario Galaxy.)Dankey Kang said:So Bowser is too big?Shy Guy Forever said:Still too big.Dankey Kang said:
Ridley's size varies just like Bowser's does too.Shy Guy Forever said:Look, I just don't think Ridley fits into the game! He's cool, but will probally be an Assist Trophy at the most. Ridley is probally going to be a Stage Hazard, anyway.Zae Roles said:hope you realize that ridley has been the same size of samus once(metroid 1) and also one of the smallest bosses in the game of super metroid.
Infact ridley just seems to switch sizes very often, i think the 3d games are like the only games where he is honestly that big as seen in prime.
Much like bowser, who seems to grow into various sizes throughout the franchise.
I mean we got bowser at a good size so why not ridley?

Think about it. Metroid is one of the biggest and most popular Nintendo franchises. Yet somehow, it only had one rep up until Brawl. Even then, ZSS wasn't her on character on the select screen.
So add another Metroid character! Ridley makes the most sense. He's an iconic villain and is very popular. Besides, who else would you put in for Metroid representation? Anthony Higgs?
I like how you're shown evidence that Ridley can be scaled down and adjusted to meet the standards of size in SSB, similar to how Olimar, who's usually the size of a quarter, is scaled up to be playable, but you still go "Nope! Still too big because reasons".Shy Guy Forever said:Look, I just don't think Ridley fits into the game! He's cool, but will probally be an Assist Trophy at the most. size comparison of samus, ridley, and kraid in the original metroid
so basically people are in denial about Ridley being a possible newcomer despite the fact that Ridley is definitely possibleZae Roles said:The A-Team said:how the fuck is he "too big"
its just a common excuse for ridley to not be playable.

Which, for the same reasons, I want Ridley.BMB said:With Ridley, it's just a massive dragon-esque creature. To me, there seems to be little appeal...

BMB said:My thing with Ridley is that I don't see the appeal for the character.
All the characters are either humanoid or have anthropomorphic tendencies to them. They seem like they are players, not enemies.
With Ridley, it's just a massive dragon-esque creature. To me, there seems to be little appeal, and would stick out compared to the other characters in the game.
And you have to understand that with the whole "Ridley is too big" argument, it's not always referring to the fact that in most apperances, Ridley is a character that wouldn't fit on the screen. It may also refer to the fact that proportionately, there may be some awkward ajustments, or the character may seem not well suited to move around as smoothly as some of the other characters.
I'm not doubting that they couldn't make a move set for him (because honestly you could with any character like Rosalina), and I think that as shown in Brawl that there is a lot he can do. Though, as a character, I think it would be a bit unfitting for him. In my opinion, he should be stage hazard/boss/assist trophy or whatever allows him to still partake in the game, as I do think having his representation for Metroid is neccessary. But other than that, no.
Hahahahaha!Dankey Kang said:Wait. I think this is what Shy Guy Forever means.
