Mario is NOT evil!

And when people say Mario is overrated, I show them that.

i dont even know if mario is overrated or not

i mean sure he is popular, but at the same time he's not that popular.

which makes it kinda hard to tell if he's overrated or underrated.

There isn't a lot of people that proclaim that Mario is their absolute favorite compared to other characters. I think he has mellow reception from fans; just a tad sweet; he represents the fans' beloved series, but there aren't a lot that like him as a character. But still, we get threads from places like GameFAQs that say, "You already use Mario in the mainstream games, and hardly anyone uses Mario in the spinoffs, so Mario should be cut." and people are agreeing with it.

well really i wouldnt even consider much from gamefaqs other then walkthroughs so idk.

I feel like he should represented anyway as he is the main character in the vast majority of games, but i also think his character should be touched upon.

Like people love that charles martints(sp?) dialogue parts you can see at conventions and mario was pretty likeable in the super show as well.

I definitely agree with you. Charles Martinet really breathes life into his characters, so again, it's a shame that Nintendo hasn't capitalized on it.

Evidence that Luigi is bad to Mario at all? If so, please tell us it, oh wise one.

Mario saves the day. He's not evil.
Mario is so evil! He doesn't protect Peach and she keeps getting kidnapped.

Mario likes it when Peach gets kidnapped because he enjoys the feeling of going on an adventure to rescue her.

Maybe they're both just too optimistic and naively think it won't happen again. Or the Mushroom Kingdom has no money and can't afford better security - hence the Beanish coin totally dominates theirs and whatnot.

Although I also think that the kidnapping-rescue cycle is the glue that holds Mario and Peach together, and without it, they'd never work as a couple because Mario's need for do-gooder adventures would make him too restless to settle down. The princess must be in another castle: if she's in the same castle, it's no fun, but not because he's evil or out for gratification, just because he's too active and heroic to live happily ever after. That's also why all his down-time is spent in a manic frenzy of mastering every sport, racing go-karts and throwing mad parties: guy just can't stay still.

Of course the Mushroom Kingdom has money, in New Super Mario Bros. 2, you must collect 1,000,000 coins. Plus in all rtf he games money is just lying around levels. The Mushroom Kingdom is good for money.

But if you have to collect so many coins, how much could they be worth? And if coins are found eveywhere, again, that suggests they might not be worth so much - if pennies were worth a dollar, you wouldn't see so many of them lying around on the ground. Maybe it's like 1997 Russia, where 5000 Rubles was worth $1 US, and you'd need huge stacks of cash just to pay for basic groceries.

Mario is literally Hitler.

No.

You do not say a fictional character is literally Hitler.

This isn't even sarcastic, and I find this "joke" offensive.

I remember a TV show with this game company making a really successful game called Kill Hitler, with a ton of ways to kill Hitler. They learned from the success that "people really like to kill Hitler".

I understand what you're saying, as I know people who have fought in WWII. But something important is the ability to laugh at something sad. I know that sounds mean, but think about it. You need to be able to take a joke, even when it offends you a little.

That was a bad dark humor joke.

To me, Mario is neither good or bad. it is just something resembling a human being existing to be played with.

gawd, what did I just say :headeesk:

I can take dark humor. It's just that one little word "literally" that ticks me off.

... Mario is figuratively Hitler? even though we all know he's Göring
