They worked on it together I've heard from news-sources, and even when not, it's something funny that I could agree with if I were Nintendo. It's pretty good advertising too, if Google likes it.

Did you even read my post above?

If you participated in it, the on-map Pokéballs and Pokémon will remain, though if you haven't, you can't see them anymore.

Neither did I. It was in the app all the time, just only available to start on 31 March, 1 and 2 April.

Proves how dynamical Google sets up their stuff, wouldn't be surprised if they could just pull Dragonball in it if they wanted without pushing an update.
