Having this site open makes Mac run slowly

I have a Mac with OS X and for some reason whenever im on here, it makes everything else run slower. Is there any certain reason that would happen?

Does it do that in any other site? What internet browser do you use?

I'm thinking it's because of low memory but it would be helpful if you provided more details.

FireFox is a memory hog. Well, internet browsers usually are.

I'm thinking it's a memory issue. But it's weird how only this site causes lag.

Update to Maverick?

No, Maverick doesn't change much in terms of performance. I use FireFox in Maverick and I do find I usually have to close it when playing a game on Steam, so its probably just the browser.
