Yeah, they're linked through a password system. Any password that you find in one of the games ends up working in the other.

Dillon's Rolling Western and/or its sequel The Last Ranger will probably entertain you if you like strategy games. I can only speak for the former, though, never got to play the latter as of now.
 
Retro City Rampage, I recommend playing it on a 3DSXL though because the sprites are so tiny and it's a little hard to see what's going on at times.

Gunman Clive, it's fun and it's only 2 buck!
