Ehhhhh, I really don't like Matchbox Twenty and Rob Thomas' work. To me, they're just contemporary redundant emo/alt-pop.

Matchbox Twenty had some pretty catchy songs; they did have quite a few shit songs, but there were some good ones still.

"Ever the Same" was the only good solo work of Rob Thomas'. (Hence why I said it's his best.)

I'd say it started going downhill about 1996 or 97. It didn't get REALLY bad til' 2002, tho. But we still have the indie scene, and bands like Muse, The White Stripes and Yeah Yeah Yeahs keeping the alternative mainstream a little bit fresh and interesting.

I listened to one of their songs a long time ago when I wasn't interested in the unconventional styles of indie music. But I adore the indie scene now, so I started listening to them recently and now they are my third favorite band of the 21st century.

Only on my computer could you go from Slipknot to Sigur Ros, or System of a Down to Lionel Richie. And I'd bet I could go from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Donkey Kong Country 2 if I had any tracks from the latter.

Unusually interesting for a hip hop artist. I guess that's to be expected from underground hip hop.
