Who's handhelds will transition to Discs first? Nintendo or Sony.

Says the person defending the PSP game library. :b

The Vita library is actually pretty decent, it's just that most games are avaliable on other platforms, so everyone just ends up buying them on those other platforms.

They have, however, built up a pretty good infrastructure for consumers to take advantage of, it's just, you know, they need a reason for making use of it.

Let's see here...

Minecraft
Rayman Legends
Angry Birds Whatever
Borderlands 2
Child of Light
DBZ: Battle of Z
Epic Mickey 2
Fez
Gravity Rush
Jet Set Radio
Lego Whatever
Mighty No. 9
Mortal Kombat
PSABR

Yeah, definitely JRPGs.

But you can also not deny that to most people cheap games usually less than $5 on a device that they are already going to carry in their pocket is better for them than having to carry another device and pay $40 for games.

playing games is still not the main purpose of a phone.

comparing sales of a device not designed to play games to a device designed to play games is irrelevant in the first place.

Iirc Sony were aiming to make the PSP/Vita more like a portable media device like a phone, just without the phone (like an iPod Touch), so they are comparable.

3DS also has other media abilities as well (irrespective of whether people intend to use them). I think it is definitely fair to compare them to phones, or at least that of an iPod Touch (though I'd say the majority of smartphone users generally use it more as a media device than a phone).

Not when those sales are eating at the sales of the other item.

Imagine if Microsoft threw a curveball and made a disc-based handheld system.
