well, there are two different isabelle variants... one matches the figure, the other matches the card...
i kinda doubt it though. way too many animal crossing characters if they did that. it'd be really stupid

In the U.S., 18 Smash Bros. amiibo are branded "unicorn" according to r/amiibo.

18/49 = 0.367, a little over a third of all of them.

well at least you have the ability to unlock characters through 100-Mario mode and by playing user-made levels that have those characters in them, so having the necessary amiibo (unicorn or not) for this game doesn't seem to be much of an issue, thankfully
 
I'm wondering if certain contents can't be used in your courses, unless you've unlocked them. In some of the videos that I saw, I noticed that not all of the footage showed all the object choices that you have.
 

This really makes me excited for the possibilities.

As GBA said I'm pretty sure that's just the E3 build. I think it would be best if everything was unlocked by default aside from the amiibo costumes. Bringing up the Mario vs. Donkey Kong again, in Tipping Stars most of the unlockables are cosmetic.

Overlooked it. That's a relief, but it might be hard *finding* these user-made levels, lol.
 
I can imagine some nice people out there creating levels for the sole purpose of unlocking the character.

I know but it would presumably turn you into Bowser with his voice.

It's pretty much a given that the Pokemon amiibo figures will NOT be compatible with Super Mario Maker. Game Freak is very strict when it comes to use of its property.

But Wario isn't playable in this game because the devs were lazy and limited other characters to costumes for Mario that work the exact same aside from aesthetics.

I somewhere about a rumor about a New Super Mario Bros game (I don't remember where). Is the game Super Mario Maker or something else like a hoax or something?
 
It could either mean a hack of the game (yes there is level hacking of New Super Mario Bros. U in progress) or, as you said it, Mario Maker.

Finally, now I don't have to buy amiibos for the full functionality they bring to a game! This is how it's meant to be!
