Dark games in otherwise cheerful series.

In comparison to the other "mainstream" Mario games, I think Super Mario Galaxy was a bit dark.

I mean, you have Rosalina's Storybook and then you have the ending with the black hole and how all the Lumas sacrifice themselves. I mean, sure, they get reborn, but you know they won't be the same Lumas that you once knew...

Mario is too busy being high on Shrooms and running around a colorful world full of walking fungai and turtles that dance to the background music.

I'm still waiting to see Link cry, and though SS had a moment where he did, we never saw tears! So Link needs to come before Mario in that category!
