This is why I'm planning on giving it back to my brother.

no

destroy it while you still can

Re: Freakworld plays Paper Mario: Sticker Star (Status: I'M BACK)

The only one that I had some issues with was that wall one. I did a loop around the entire level before I walked into the room again and realized there was a problem with the infinijump being too high up.

Re: Freakworld plays Paper Mario: Sticker Star (Status: I'M BACK)

I get a feeling that level was deliberately designed around the fact that I suck at playing hide 'n seek.

Well that's why I auto assumed there was only one boo per room.

Not like in the room with the boo stack where there also was one in the the fucking clock.

And no I was not there to clean their clock.
Dude bro, when you are in a mansion, you MUST destroy all the clocks in the mansion. It's a law of nature, didn't you know that? How many clocks did you destroy in that mansion?

You're waiting for an update aren't you?

Re: Freakworld plays Paper Mario: Sticker Star (Status: I'M BACK)

That's good because I haven't had time to write one yet.

Re: Freakworld plays Paper Mario: Sticker Star (Status: I'M BACK)

That is not even sarcasm

I swear

Today we pick on World 5

hooo boi

5-1:

5-1 is the 2/10 boring crap level, kinda like 2-1 or most levels in world 3

the beginning was pretty linear, setting in a jungle on an island with spear guys and piranha plants

0.jpg

(not actually from the game)

after a while you approach a non-existant bridge that you have to gap using 3 scraps which are all stolen by some spear guys that you have to hunt down.

1 of them is failry eas to get, but the other two...

There are these flowers that eat you if you jump on them.

Essentially on spear guy dropped the scrap on an ledge that's only accesaible if you jump over a flower.

In order to jump on it you have to stun it with the hammer before, and then quickly run over and jump over the flower.

The problem is that in this room no matter what you do you are too slow to reach the flower

well turned out there's a hidden invisible block you're supposed to hammer to jump on an ledge so that you can get to the flower faster.

Talk about random.

Another Shy Guy ran off to this room:

zlCfzSkQxzEo_Hs6Ky

Turns out this is the only room in the game where you need the Goat

You remember? The one that Birdo gave me in that extremely random event?

zlCfzSkQ5n4Bz8fOV0

In chat we found out that there's a Kersti trophy in SSB4. We were pretty pissed.

Anyways, the level is over after you got all three.

1st half random, 2nd half stupid. Lovely level.

5-2:

5-2 is a Raft Ride while being attacked by some bone fish and dodging barrels and the like.

Pretty easy and fun because there's little skill involved.

Yeah really I liked this level because it's not overly hard crappy or random.

5-3 LONG FALL FALLS:

5-3 is another rafting course.

EVERYBODY has been telling me how this is BY FAR the worst level in the game.

I was like "okay. let me see"

after playing the level for a while I was still waiting for that killer stupid part that sells this as the worst level for me.

after like 5 minutes i reach the goal.

I'm totally confused and ask the chat where the bad part was because I sincerely didn't think that was bad.

I have to play the level again for a secret exit.

after 10 minutes i reach the secret exit.

I'm even more confused and ask the chat where the fucking bad part was.

They are like totally confused too.

turns out the bad part was supposed to be a giant fish who charges at you in the beginning of the level for like 5 times and is really easy to dodge and then flies away

zlCfzSkRZlYbbZbDeT

Random but whatever.

I really like 5-2 and 5-3, they are more relaxing than the reast of the world at least.

Most of the chat didn't understand why I hate the longest, most crappy level in the game but they do not AT ALL understand that I like a short and easy level.

pffft people nowadays.

5-4:

I UNFORTUNATELY FORGOT TO TAKE SCREENSHOTS OF THE FOLLOWING TWO LEVELS

5-4 is Chomp Ruins, this is much like a shorter, not as crappy version of 2-5

like really it reminded me of that a fair lot, only being shorter.

There isn't really anything bad to say about this level either, it's got some puzzles, an "Endboss", which is really automatically over after 4 rounds and that's it.

Nothing spectacular.

5-5:

5-5, Rugged Road, is like the longest level in World 5 so far.

Essentially there's a blockade at the start which forces you to use an ice thing sticker such as the fridge to advance.

After that it's your typical fire level, and it's not even that bad.

Like honestly I can't say anything bad about this either.

By the time I had beaten Rugged Road with like 10 hp left or something it was midnight and I was tired as shit.

Well at least there's only one more level left in this World, which apart from 5-2 and 5-3 which have been fun has been a little boring but not too bad so far.

Progress: https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYQHAAABAAABUaXD2Dj2Iw

NEXT TIME: We finish off World 5 and take a look at how World 6 plays out.

If I play for as long as last time, we might even finish it...

Check back later today for the EXCITING conclusion! (in about 1 1/2 hours maybe?)

Re: Freakworld plays Paper Mario: Sticker Star (Status: I'M BACK)

he's on the final battle

hype

EDIT: shit i accidentally revealed my password
i changed it
it's good

Re: Freakworld plays Paper Mario: Sticker Star (Status: I'M BACK)

I'm still there btw

Re: Freakworld plays Paper Mario: Sticker Star (Status: I'M BACK)

Note:

This isn't over yet.

I played for like 4 hours straight and failed against the final Bowser 4 times.

I'm pretty certain I can beat him if I retry later today though, so you'll see that then I think.

Re: Freakworld plays Paper Mario: Sticker Star (Status: I'M BACK)

5-6:

This is your typical boss level from this game.

Luckily it was pretty short and the boss was pretty easy.

Naturally it's set in a huge volcano with extremely helpful signs such as this:

zlCfzSlBVYgLRMfrEY

Essentially you're supposed to defeat, or otherwise knockout 3 chain chomps so a platform lowers itself so we can rescue Kersti, who was swallowed by Petey Piranha, who's also the boss.

As I've said, not too bad. Like the other level (think it was 3-6), where Kersti was kidnapped.

zlCfzSlBmu0mU0EyA9

6-1:

This level is a dead end unless you have the other 5 Royal Stickers, which makes sense I guess.

In this point the game kinda reminds me of Super Mario Land 2 where you (apart from that first level), can do the worlds in any order you want, and you need the 6 golden coins to enter Wario's Castle.

So after a while I figure out how to get past this, it spawns Bowser's Castle WHICH IS FLYING

WOW SUCH ORIGINALITY!

After that you have "beaten" 6-1 and every level on the world map is beaten.

That wasn't the end of course.

Because there is one plot element that still has not been resolved!
[...] When suddenly the messiah came forth and brought the heroes over the water to the distant island ridden by the evil magic of Satan!

For when he has fulfilled his purpose he returned to his home in World 3-3 and began eating the Last Supper suddenly a message popped up on the screen!

[...]

And he was called to duty once again!
zlCfzSlBvSY6u8hvSA

Yup no comment.

Anyways we use him to fly to Bowser's Castle...

...Or so it seems, until Bowser Jr. decides to show up with a fat airship.

6-2:

So this level is navigating through Bowser Jr.'s Airship and battling him afterwards.

This level actually also was a lot of fun.

In fact this level is the first time since 3-10 I've felt like playing a Paper Mario game...

...at least kinda.

At the end you gotta fight Bowser Jr., who is slightly unnerved by me.

zlCfzSlB7jgu2X6Z5V

All you gotta do is reflect the projectiles he shoots at you with the tail stickers you can find throughout the level. Pretty easy too.

After that here it is

zlCfzSlCDsMhz7XUs4

THE FINAL LEVEL!

I was preparing for an overly large dungeon like usual in Bowser's Castles (see Paper Mario or M&L: Dream Team).

...well...

After like one empty room you meet Kamek.

At this point you're pretty pumped for the battle against Kamek because after all he has done more evil in this game than Bowser and Jr. combined.

Well, he has 12 HP.

or rather, 20, but two versions of him in the fight are just clones he summoned.

Also he turns all your stickers into flip-flops, again.

This battle is pretty random, it can be EXTREMELY easy or it can be really stupid.

After this you're supposed to exit and re-enter the level because it saves but ofc I didn't do that.

Why should I.

After another room with like one obstacle you see Peach on the Wall fixed with one of Bowser's Bandaid Stickers.

Well and then Bowser already appears.

zlCfzSlCLxoquwRj1f

TALK ABOUT FINAL DUNGEON HUH.

Anyways, the final battle of the game commences.

And dear god is it HARD.

I swear you'll have to replay this at least 5 times if you don't have help to figure out what you're doing

For this battle alone you need:

-A shit ton of hammers bc jumping on Bowser hurts
-A Stapler
-One or preferably multiple Eekhammers
-The Scissors
-Multiple Ice Themed Thing Stickers (I took 2)
-A lot of Tail Stickers
-A lot of Mushroom Stickers, preferably 1-up stickers
-A Lot of Patience
-A Lot of Luck.

And well, even if you have all this stuff it's still one heck of a tough fight.

He has 5 phases:

Phase 1:

Three Enemies appear out of doors in the background and you cannot attck bowser before you beat them, basically.

Thing is, they keep respawning out of the doors.

Solution: Use the Stapler to lock the doors so that the enemies dont respawn, beat the original 3.

Bowser himself has 400 HP and after taking exactly 75 DMG (or sth. around that), he enters Phase 2.

Phase 2:

He summons a huge whomp that protects him so that you can't attack him at all, the Whomp does a shit ton of damage.

Solution: when Bowser does and attack you can see the scissor mark on the whomp's back.

You gotta push him over with multiple attacks in succession (the only way I could do this was with an Eekhammer), and then use the scissors to kill him.

After that it's just Bowser, he has 350 Hp now and after taking like 125 DMG (I think),he goes to Phase 3.

Phase 3:

In this phase you can see lava and a lot of Podoboos in the background that will attack you after every turn, else it's only Bowser

Solution: Use an Ice themed sticker such as the fridge to temporarily freeze the lava so that Bowser cannot attack you.

Beware that after a while though they automatically get unfreezed.

Bowser himself has 300 Hp now and after taking around 125 DMG he goes to phase 4.

Phase 4:

In this phase he went so far back, that there's peach hanging on the wall again.

Behind Bowser is an abyss, he summons a chain chomp.

Together they have 300hp, Bowser only 250, the chomp is invincible.

Solution: Either attack the chain chomp like 100 times until they get pushed over the edge, or successfully reflect one of his attacks on Bowser to kick him over the Edge.

After that I had won, for now.

I was of course, nearly out of Stickers.

The next phase, Phase 5, is the shitty one.

He comes back as a giant Bowser, you can also attack his arms.

Altogether he has 400 hp, again.

After he beats you up for a bit Kersti comes along and tells you to use her as a stick to turn you invincible or something.

After an awful plot sequence where Kersti says goodbye to mario he goes into Star Mode and all stickers do 10x the damage.

EASY NOW, RIGHT?

WELL GUESS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME:

zlCfzSlDdFsBjkbQuN

And he beat me up.

...

Well yeah at that point it was 1 AM and I was tired as fuck and also GTG, so at my 4th try i had to stop playing, but I failed again bc in phase 5 before i used kersti i got killed :/

But yeah, I'm pretty positive that I can beat this game today.

In other words, come back later!
