It doesn't have enough convoluted time travel to be Hamsteak.

...

Although all bets are off now that Smasher appeared.

No, but like Homestuck/MSPA, it started out as short, quickly scribbled, largely improvised chapters in what was meant to be a modest, silly little project, but gradually started becoming longer and more planned-out, with serious drama and action taking center stage (but with the humour never going away), all rendered in higher-quality art (with GIFs mixed in with the static stuff in Edo's chapters and periodic panels in the older art styles in my chapters), and riddled with tonnes of references and callbacks to earlier panels, lines, etc. There's also plenty of references to external things (The Megas, Homestuck, Scott Pilgrim, Saving Private Ryan, and more), and what goes down in this thread often feeds back into the story, from cameos to major plot devices. And as a final similarity, both series have had large pause(s) in production, after initially fairly quick but schedule-less turnover rates. Fortunately, we're not quite as bad as Homestuck when it comes to this last bit.

On the one hand, I'm super pissed off that I didn't get a cameo with everyone else.

But on the other hand, I'm glad to see that handsome mustachioed gentleman at Loic's, who looks like he's very trustworthy when it comes to writing checks.

Yeah! No one is allowed to backstab the heroes with spears except me!

...not that I would ever do that! Haha. Ha. Ha.

On a serious note, this art is awesome. Well worth the wait.

Well, you also drove a car into Mario's head at one point. That worked.
