In this thread, I give out updates on what progress I've made i this game.
Decided to post it now since 3001st post, something big.

BYA (Before you ask):
My main is Kirby
I am also good with Yoshi, Pikachu, Luigi, Peach, I do not know whether or not I am good with Mewtwo (only played Brawl before, ordered Melee online)
I will be doing Classic Mode and Target Smash with every Character

My personal opinion is that Pichu is the worst in Melee, but Bowser, Pichu and Kirby are the bottom 3 in tiers, in that order.

When I started playing it, I found Data of Dr. Mario and Jigglypuff being unlocked. I got cheated out of unlocking another character due to shield spamming and I had been working really hard and spent a lot of time on it too. Hopefully that flaw is removed from the next Smash Bros game since this isn't the first time I've been cheated out of a game by Shield spam..

Ooooh look who's a bit hurt by salt today.

Seriously i've recently started playing melee again.

plus you have ways to break shields like fans or mr saturns also you can grab while they're shielding lol.

shielding isn't a flaw.

a real flaw was how if you managed to hit the opponent first but you were also hit and you lost because the Star KO takes longer for a KO to register officially which has been fixed in Smash 4 because now when there's only one minute left. The foe has a regular side KO no matter what.

While I don't use shielding that much (And probably why I wouldn't do too good competitively ever) it's part of the game mechanics. Defense can be just as important in Smash Bros. as the offense.

I unlocked Luigi and Falco, completed Target Smash with everyone I have so far, and did several events.
Cleared Adventure Mode with Kirby and Pikachu.

PBWOE:

I cleared a few more events, unlocked Ganondorf (first character I unlocked without failing once before), and did Target Smash with him.

PBWOE2:

I unlocked Marth and Roy and cleared target Smash with both of them and beat Classic Mode with Marth and used the trophy lottery function to get a Birdo trophy unlocking a stage.

PBWOE3:

I beat Classic mode with Mario, Bowser, Link, Zelda, Peach, Luigi, Pikachu, and Jigglypuff and unlocked Young Link after 9 Classic Mode runs (glitch) and beat target Smash with him.

PBWOE4:

I beat a few more events and unlocked Pichu and beat target smash with it.

PBWOE5:

I unlocked Yoshi's Island N64.

PBWOE6:

I used the AI's cheap tactics against them (Shield Spam) to unlock Kongo Jungle N64.

PBWOE7:

I cleared a few more events and beat Classic Mode with Kirby, Donkey Kong, and Samus.

PBWOE8:

I cleared a few more events, beat Classic mode with Fox, Yoshi, Captain Falcon, Ness, and Ice Climbers, beat Adventure mode with Mario and Marth, unlocked Brinhstar Depths, and I got the Ditto trophy.

PBWOE9:

I cleared Adventure mode with Link, Donkey Kong, Samus, Fox, Yoshi, Captain Falcon, Ness, Luigi, Bowser, Peach, Zelda.

PBWOE10:

I cleared Adventure mode with Jigglypuff and the Ice Climbers and beat a few more events.

PBWOE11:

I cleared Classic Mode with Pichu and Roy and unlocked Fourside.

PBWOE12:

I cleared Classic Mode with Young Link, Ganondorf, Falco, and Dr. Mario.

PBWOE13:

I unlocked Mewtwo and Mr. Game & Watch and Dream Land N64.

PBWOE14:

I cleared Classic Mode with Mr. Game & Watch and Mewtwo, All-Star Mode with Kirby, and unlocked Battlefield and Flat Zone.

PBWOE15:

I cleared Adventure Mode with Mewtwo and Mr. Game & Watch, cleared a few more events, and unlocked Big Blue.
