A dramatic Mario game

Not going to happen.
You know what else would never happen? Rare splitting from Nintendo, Crash and Spyro becoming 3rd party characters,, and Sega being a 3rd party company...anything in the video game industry can happen unexpectedly

You didn't mention Facebook buying Oculus. However, you do bring up some of the biggest examples.

That's the field of compagnies where you can fail and being bought.

But here, Mario characters have not much of a personality. The emotional thing in Mario main games is Bowser kidnaps something and Mario goes to the rescue.

They never use that in an emotional way though

In the story book, Rosalina had orange hair as a kid. Yet as a baby she is blonde like her adult counterpart.

What is it with you and making everything a big dramatic and emotional story?
Well it's not like there's anything wrong with that. Super Paper Mario is one of my favorite games because it was like that.

I would love to see Nintendo make a Mario game that's so emotional like Final Fantasy, while still fun for kids
Super Paper Mario. That is all.

Also, inb4mcmadnesssaysitsucks

A prime example of why this is a stupid idea.

Except it's not a stupid idea...

You just personally dislike that type of story.

Its a stupid idea because this is fucking MARIO.

I have nothing against dramatic storylines but I would NEVER go to fucking MARIO for dramatic storylines.

Mario is supposed to be lighthearted and fun.

What about those whose favorite franchise is Mario but their favorite type of story is dramatic epic stories?

Super Mario 64 is what got me into Mario, but my standards for stories were really raised by SPM.

dramatic is not an antonym for lighthearted any more than sour is an antonym for delicious.

they're two different axes.

Then you have really screwed priorities and should play something else that is actually about those types of things.

They aren't going to change the fundamental aspects of the franchise just because one shmuck doesn't get why this series does what it does.

Then expand your boundaries outside of Mario.

Actually, Mario is my favorite game franchise, and drama is my favorite genre of movies

What does that have to do with anything?

They can enjoy the myriad of works whose history, settings and characters are notably more suited to tell a competent dramatic story than Mario..?

Drama can work in Mario, hence the drama I'm adding in my movie

No, it really can't. Its frankly laughable everytime someone tries to shove it in.
