Drama can work in Mario, hence the drama I'm adding in my movie

No, it really can't. Its frankly laughable everytime someone tries to shove it in.
And you know this how?

That's the thing, it's not crappy because you say it's crappy. Stop acting like your opinion is the truth.
when did this forum turn into the comments section of a youtube video

No its not, its crappy because its a stupid concept that completely clashes with what the series is generally like.

It was moronic when Sonic did it, and it was moronic when Mario did it.

Its a stupid, STUPID idea.

The Spongebob Movie had drama and it worked, Toy Story 3 had drama and it worked, so Mario (and I'm talking about the mainstream games) could work with drama.

SpongeBob is a tv show.
Toy Story is a movie franchise.
Mario is a video game.
But they all have one thing in common: Their demographic is kids and yet Spongebob and Toy Story added some really heavy shit

This isn't a movie.

Spongebob's drama was generally played for laughs.

Toy Story is because while it was about talking toys, it was about talking toys in a real life setting and the struggles of having to deal with it.

Mario is about a bloody plumber who touches shrooms to grow bigger to stop a fire breathing turtle from taking over the world and stealing the princess. Its practically a parody of old fantasy cliches and its not exactly a concept that screams for dramatic storylines.

Besides Super Paper Mario, when did Mario try drama?

Super Mario Galaxy?

I found the whole universe blowing up thing cheesy as hell btw

Super Paper Mario to me felt like the Mario equivalent of how the Spongebob movie was to Spongebob (Spongebob episodes typically didn't have a major threat to anything, while the movie was like, "shit just got real") It felt like an epic, grand adventure to save the world from utter annihilation, now THAT's how I like my Mario games.

You know that saying "x is good/bad/stupid" is automatically an opinion by definition, right?

I know what an opinion is. People pointing out that what I'm saying is technically an opinion is pointless and redundant.

And this is why you have skewed priorities on this franchise.

My advice is to try expanding your pallet, that way you'll stop expecting stupid things from this series.

Expecting Mario to have serious drama as its main story point is like expecting Rayman to have its story being primarily serious and dramatic. They just don't work

Sure Mario can have some emotional moments but it's ultimately supposed to be a series that doesn't take itself seriously. The moments worked in Thousand-Year Door and Partners in Time. But the main draw to their story is that they're still primarily based on humor and quirkyness.

Someone didn't play Rayman 2.

I did play Rayman 2

I always found Razorbeard to be hilarious rather than serious. It's kinda like King K. Rool in Donkey Kong 64

Especially if you played the playstation version where he actually talked.
