What you don't like about Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U?

so i'm playing smash run and rocking out to spark man's theme and that stupid reaper shows up with its irritating theme "music"

that sucks

they're pretty easy though so no big deal.

Yeah, you can easily kill them if you have decent attack, and Ornes are worse.

And I could've sworn I made a brief rant about Ornes some time before Nysic's post, but apparently that post didn't get through so I'll reiterate.

I hated (and feared) them in Uprising, the same goes for here. I've never encountered one myself until today, so a single Smash Run gave me THREE, this put me off that mode completely for who knows how long.

The first was off-screen but nearby for a second or two but the music then stopped so I dunno why but I took it. The second I heard in a two-way, so I ran back the way I came to see that was where it was coming from. 700+ speed didn't help the scare I had when I almost ran into it. The third was at the very end (10 seconds), in the bottom-left portion. I was at the edge, heard the music, went "NOPE" and jumped off the edge. I still think it was worth it.

So needless to say, I hate Ornes with a burning passion in this game.

Also I couldn't bear to play Smash Run without music because of those chumps, I salute you two.

Hate those bastards, I really do.

Sakurai is a flipping idiot for including them in the first place. That's NOT how you design a game.

honestly most enemies are really easy with spinning blades power.

Only enemies i really have a hard time with are clobberskulls(sp?), metroids, and those damn cars.

also ill never complete survival on hard.

also ornes arent even that bad, they're slow and i just run the opposite direction anyway.

Can I just say that all of the Uprising enemies besides the eye squid guys are insanely annoying

Doesn't help that there's so many of them...

It's still annoying that basically everything on the stages only goes for two minutes. The music, the time it takes to loop through the stage, it's all 2 minutes.

That's not how I like my Smash Bros.

Sqirtle not being playable, meaning my chances of seeing the other two(Bulbasaur and Charmander) is a lot lower.

Yes it took me a while to realize this.

I only ever bring the healing powers, though most enemies are still pretty easy anyway.

And it's not even that Ornes are hard to get away from if you have the music on, it's just that they legitimately frighten me.

The thing I noticed with Smash run is that when you start one, you basically are ambushed by the same enemies for the 5 Minutes. It's like you don't get a choice of who you'll verse except for those enemies for the entire duration. I got stuck with Ornes for one battle, and had like 3 or 4 of them come in that time frame where I literally had to run away (I lost 700 Speed too somehow from them, those bastards). They don't scare me (maybe because I forgot that you can't harm them and somehow I didn't get killed by them), but they do suck when you're trying to collect a lot of stuff and then you hear the music and you're like "fuck".

Yeah, Smash Run isn't really that fun for me. I just find it super frustrating when you're ambushed by like 7 different guys and every time you try to attack their moves prioritize over yours and how many of them have no flinching. Not to mention the giant bosses that usually comes in big groups that just wreck your ass.

Smash Run basically requires for you to use eqiupment that helps your character. As some characters on their default are not fit for the environment of Smash Run. I made a pretty much Smash Run viable version of each character by using equipment to up their Speed and Attack. It means my characters lack Defense at the beginning but then again you can just find Defense stat boosts, plus adding Defense in Eqiupment makes your speed slower. And trust me you NEED Speed in Smash Run.

Heck arguably, it's in the name, It's Smash Run. It's why faster characters like Sonic or Captain Falcon will probably have a better time then playing through with Ganondorf or other characters that have a hard time in the map like I found Rosalina hard to use in Smash Run (Luma tends to be left behind alot, and Rosalina's pretty slow).

Rosalina makes it up with her jumps. And yeah, I found Sonic to be one of the best.

I also noticed that even if you have an insane amount of speed or jump, if you have a character like Ike or Pac-Man, you're going to probably lose in Race to the Finish/climb the highest challenges. While if you had Sonic - like I had - who had basically no speed boosts - like I had - you still basically win it - like I had.

I just slap as much Attack as possible on to characters and find my way from there. I mean, that's all you really need to do good because you'll get power-ups mainly from defeating enemies, especially the strong ones.

And with the Run and Climb final matches, I just sabotaged the other players with characters like those and knocked them into those spikes that send you back. Easily won.

Either having Max Speed or Max Attack equipped on your character makes it a lot easier to start off, and having a million powerful Smash Run Powers like Power Bomb make the strong ones give you the stat boosts you need to make up for lack of Attack or Defense and gets you more of the other stats as well.

But even still, the enemies are the same ones the entire time, so if you see a mimicutie, you're going to see another one. Same goes to all the really annoying enemies.

Wish there was an actual OPTIONS menu for Smash Run. Is it that hard to implement something that can adjust enemy spawn rates, time, events, and final battles? Or is the 3DS really that packed?

Since you guys are talking about what's GOOD for Smash Run, I've actually did a defense-specializing Luigi. He's extremely slow (-59 speed), and his jumps have no momentum whatsoever, but every single one of his equipment heals damage. KO Healer Protection Badge, Vampire Overalls, and Auto-Healer Brawn Badge. The need for health-restoring equipment is zilch, as I rarely went over even 30% during those runs, so I just filled him up with Invincibility and Damaging items (like Power Bomb).

Amazingly, I also happened to smoke the competition with him during a Run Final Battle. Yes, he collected a lot of speed patches, but his running speed is comparable to probably Luigi without equipment; that's how slow he is.

Also, for the lolz, I made one Mario wear Leaper Shoes, Hi-Jump Agility Badge, and Sprinter Agility Badge. He is now truly Jumpman, but using aerial attacks in Smash Run can be kind of a nightmare.

Go with Speed and Attack-boosting stuff, but playing around with equipment effects can be really fun.

honestly i wouldnt bring healing powers as being able to crush the stronger enemies will allow you to get better stat boosts and even custom items.

Spinning blades, horizontal beam, or shocking taunt really help the most ive seen.

Ive used healing powers too but ive found those three powers to be far superior.

Although im mainly in it for custom parts though, and it really helps to be able to take down the stronger enemies.

As for ornes i guess it just depends on the person, although that thing can be annoying as crap in survival normal if you dont have good speed and jump stats.

yeah i wish it did too, especially for certain events, like killing certain enemies as i often find myself uncapable of finding said enemies since it seems like they're on the opposite of the map.

Fair enough, though I prefer wrecking all the enemies myself and healing when need be and that seems to work fine as well.

Bringing healing powers mean you won't get knocked out at all unless you get Orned, so if you come at the big enemies you don't have to worry about that and you still wreck them.

You know I really can't seem to deal with in Smash Run?

Chain Chomps. Especially when there's a bunch of other enemies around ambushing you.

Ornes. Just the fact that they exist is terrible.

I cannot per this enough, that experience of mine with three of them in a single run has literally ruined Smash Run for me.
