Characters I'm OK as: Bowser, Captain Falcon, Diddy Kong, Donkey Kong, Fox, Greninja, Ike, Jigglypuff, King Dedede, Kirby, Lucario, Mario, Marth, Mega Man, Meta Knight, Pit, Robin, Samus, Sheik, Toon Link, Yoshi, Zelda, Zero Suit Samus
Characters I use when I'm just messing around: Bowser Jr., Duck Hunt, Ganondorf, Little Mac, Mii Gunner, Mii Swordsman, Mr. Game & Watch, Peach, ROB, Wario, Wii Fit Trainer

You forgot Lucina, but I assume you never use her either, considering you don't use the other clones.

If you care to hear about my logic, I use Mario slightly more than Lucina and Toon Link, so I can't really consider him on a higher usage level than the other two but even then the difference is somewhat noticeable, so I just said "okay he's my primary main" (the main of mains) and it just stuck with me.

i still don't like it since he's either used on a similar level to this either two (making you have three mains; a tri-main) or he's used more than those two (which would by default make them secondaries to Mario).

Still, "w/e who gives a fuck anyway" you're probably not going to change how you view it regardless.

Well actually Lucina would be about where Marth is, I'm ok with her. She's the only one of the really cloneish slots I actually fairly like. I don't use Dr. Mario or Dark Pit cuz onionspinions.

Since I have started playing, for me it has been,

1. Ness
2. Yoshi
3. Duck Hunt
4. Bowser Jr.
5. Palutena

Occasionally Dr. Mario or Donkey Kong but not often. And I still need 3 more characters so my list can change, but I highly doubt it.

a few changes:

Vilager: A tier -> S tier (liking him even more again)
Greninja: A tier -> B tier (I don't like him nearly as much as I did when I first started, he's actually towards the bottom of this tier now)
Shulk: B tier -> A tier (I'm really feeling it)
Falco: B tier -> A tier (Liking him more again, but still not as much as in Melee/Brawl)
Peach: C tier -> B tier (starting to like her a bit)
R.O.B.: C tier -> B tier (I'm not actually sure why I didn't have him in B in the first place...)

Changed tier names slightly too, don't feel like applying colors.

I think a bit more time with Shulk, Robin, and maybe Rosalina & Luma, then I've definitely gotten used to everyone again.
