Ok so for whatever reason, this is what all of the uv maps look like. Imported as the same exact shape.

Some UV shells DO look whack (like huge vertex spike), but other UVs just look misplaced. Good UVs should have those wireframe shells over the appropriate area, so try moving those shells around and experimenting with how they display, you might be able to learn how UVs work this way.
