Look at it! Look at it! LOOK AT IT!

Peach has the tendency to look like a fish

Anyway, too lazy to upload Peach so here's MTUS Mario instead

If your characters look like flattened masks, you're doing something correctly :D

If you know, I'm working on a custom Baby Luigi model that I created from scratch. Here's a WIP of my Baby Luigi texture

Well, that's the point of UV unwrapping, you translate 3D information to a 2D surface. That's why they call it UV mapping. Think of it like the map of the world. It's like a UV map of a globe.

I know Mario isn't intended to be viewed close up, but this texture looks horrible far away as well IMO.

That "pill" looks more like some kind of censor.

Looks like a naked Chunky Kong wearing a hat.

edit: with teeth.

This looks like some creepypasta stuff.

Can't unsee quirks in dated gcn-era renders. It's not even the issues I have over the surface properties they chose (like Shiny Hair and Me and the glass-looking shell) and the weird fuzzy shadow.

If I find more, I'll let you know. Maybe it's me, but the other things I found isn't all that apparent in the other characters aside from texture seams and Bowser and Donkey Kong's dated-looking skin textures.

there's also Luigi's backward L on the boxart of the game, but I noticed that years ago and we put that in MarioWiki trivia before anyone did apparently.

From Supper Mario Broth again:

"In the newer Super Mario series games starting with the Wii U, Princess Daisy’s nose has no texture. It is entirely modeled in polygons and becomes indistinguishable when lit from the front. By contrast, Princess Peach’s nose is still textured."

Here's Peach's texture for comparison

And here is Yoshi's model, without a snout.

Yoshi looks better without a nose.

Then again, he looks better without a head.

I'd kick his ass

I'll never understand the anatomical miracle of how they can get inside their shells when it looks like they just hold the shell on their backs.

Good ol mid-frame pauses.
