What non-video game characters would you like to see in Smash?

One of the comic strip characters would be a dream come true (but not sure for other people. After all, comic strips is not a popular medium).

- Popeye is one character I would like seeing, because of his historical ties with Nintendo.
- Garfield is another character. Certainly that Nickelodeon fighting game gave him a move set, so maybe we can reapply some of that into Smash?
- Snoopy is an unexpected pick, but if Villager from Animal Crossing works, maybe there's hope for Snoopy.

Thank you for reading.
Sure I'd like that! I like Garfield and Snoopy and all that. And Popeye is a classic!

Since this is an old thread it's interesting to note that there have been several platform fighters or "smash-likes" to put it more crudely released with non-video game characters now.

Anyways, for smash particularly I think it would be funny to add characters specific to non video-game adaptations of video game franchises. Even though I personally think the show is cheesy and low quality, I'd still get a kick out of seeing Kevin/Captain N from "Captain N: The Game Master" show up as a fighter.

If you aren't familiar with the show (you aren't missing out on much), it's a cartoon from the 80s about a teenager who gets taken from the real world to go on adventures in worlds very loosely based on video-games found on the NES. (loosely to the point that it's obvious that the show-runners didn't even take the effort of looking at the games' manual.)

My top two picks for non video game representation would have to be either SpongeBob or Luz from The Owl House

Someone else said it would be cool to have comic characters like Garfield and Snoopy and Charlie Brown and all that in Smash and that would be pretty cool. I love those old comics. Also I'd really like to know who made that request, I thought it was really cool.
