It's only cosmetic. He's also not the first Dark Skylander. BTW, is there a Dark Donkey Kong as well?

Tbh I would've preferred the actual Dark Bowser because

1) It looks better
2) It's a Shadowshy amiibo

So Bowser is playable in skylanders, he got a big role in Mario party 10, there are 2 Bowsers in Paper Jam. SMMaker allows you to make all sorts of crazy combinations with Bowser.


Clearly this is the unofficial year of Bowser.
 
If Wreck-it-Ralph came this year, then that would be ... uh, yeah.
 
If Wreck-it-Ralph 2 comes out this year and Bowser is a supporting character then it's definitely the unofficial Year of Bowser.

Probably the same reason Mario's 'stache is a really dark shade of brown, but his hair is brown?
 
I think a better question is how does Bowser fly in 3D Land?
 
Same reason Mario can't fly with a Tanooki Suit.

I don't know but here are some “logical” theories:
1.the spiky collar too tight
2. Remember his green sprite? He tanned himself while covering his head with a towel.
 
here is what Bowser should do:
1. pay Waluigi to make Luigi seem like a jerk
2. be nice to Peach
3. build up the relationship
4. propose
then his kids will have a full family unit
