You can read some of the manga on CoroCoro's website. Currently it's just the first three chapters and a few others but there's a chance they might do a limited full release someday like they've done for other manga when there's a related event.

Otherwise your best bets are to order them from import sites. Mandarake is a second hand store in Japan that ships internationally, which is where you're likely to find older volumes, and CDJapan is a store where you can buy many of the newer ones. Shipping can be a little expensive, but they're highly trustworthy. I've literally ordered hundreds of volumes of manga from both over the years without a problem.

I always think it's a huge pity to not be worldwide release---- I know it's artstyle didn't mean to be the franchise's main advertising, but I always respect it not because it's so longrunning, but it comprehends all kinds of Mario materials when Nintendo nowaday is exteremely biased for mainline and canon. Somehow this is the Mario world we want to stick to rather than the game version.

My opinion on this has shifted over the years. While the fact that it includes spinoff material including the RPGs is still a huge plus (and still something I wish would be done elsewhere in the franchise), how it portrays some of the characters is... i can't beat around the bush, problematic. Like, most notably off the top of my head, in the TTYD arc Vivian is portrayed as a transphobic punchline (ie Mario is grossed out by her kisses because he feels stubble). I know she wasn't portrayed the best in the original JP version either, but at least she's not that blatant of a mockery of trans people, she's just an outdated portrayal.

There's also the complete mockery of some of the character backstories. For example Bobbery's wife Scarlette isn't actually dead in the manga, it's a lie he made up to skip work and it ends with her showing up exploding with rage. A total insult to the touching and sad tale in the source material. On the plus side it does give us a visual of Scarlette, and there's also a silhouette of Count Bleck's father in the SPM arc. But I really don't like the portrayals. These particular games needed way more time to play out, a manga could be a good place for that, but not one that feels the need to rush and truncate as much as possible while shoving gags everywhere.

I prefer this over the game's portrayal.

@Wittgenstein It sounds to me like your main problems with this manga is that not only are a lot of details referring to the games inaccurately portrayed, but with its humor the manga tries way too much to be funny to the point it's so unfunny it's awkward. A fair and accurate judgement to make in my opinion. I have no opinion either way on this stuff because I haven't read any of it.

idk Super Mario-kun is a gag manga and has no problems with making practically all characters irreverent. That being said I do wish we had a long running manga series with a more model-accurate art style like those weird Mario Party ones.

I'm not going to lie, but when I read Super Mario-kun's take on Bobbery's backstory, I burst out laughing over the utter irreverence. Guess that makes me part Bob-omb.

While I have not really read the Kodansha KC Deluxe Mario manga, I can appreciate it for what it does: it utilises the more obscure characters like Daisy and Donkey Kong Jr. Daisy's expanded appearance in this manga is a rare, especially since this is before Mario Tennis. It also puts Mario in game stories where he wasn't even a part of (such as Donkey Kong Country).

I am not sure how much Super Mario-kun makes use of the character who may not be the main 6 (unsure how much Donkey Kong appears, so it would be Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Toad, Bowser; if DK is used then it would be main 7). Did that Super Mario Bros. Wonder arc use Daisy at all? I felt like they didn't because otherwise the Daisy fans would spotlight her appearance there.

Thank you for reading.
