Twilight Princess Wii edition

So I've received the slingshot in Twilight Princess (Wii version) and it works just fine. However, there's one teensy-tiny little problem. I NOW CAN'T SWING THE SWORD! Again, the Wii responds when I point the Remote at the screen, but I can't swing the sword.

You simply have to shake the Wii Remote. There's no need for precision unlike Skyward Sword.

That's the thing. It doesn't respond when I shake it.

Now I don't have perfect memory, but perhaps you're in that point of the story after you get the Slingshot where you don't even have a sword. At some point, you have to give the sword you have to Talo to progress towards the area you need to go to so you can advance, so you have no sword at all.
