Ideas for a remake of Paper Mario.

Hey folks, I came up with an idea of a remake of the original Paper Mario. The remake should be titled Paper Mario: The Star Rod Chronicles or Paper Mario Chronicles if it includes a remake of TTYD and or Super Paper Mario.

It should feature the TTYD art style. It should change the way Peach gets kidnapped by making it more in the way of Super Mario Galaxy 1 with UFOs and chains that lift her castle up as opposed to just Bowser's fortress. There should be two handles on the ground that rise up and the UFOs appear and they release chains to latch on to the handles and they pull them up to reveal Bowser's Castle which also lifts Peach's Castle in the process. It should also have the battle system from TTYD. Peach's Castle should also look like it's current counterpart.

BTW, I got my title name idea of Paper Mario Chronicles and Paper Mario: The Star Rod Chronicles from Castlevania Chronicles and Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles for PS1 and PSP and I just like the Chronicles monicker and it goes well with Paper Mario Chronicles and or The Star Rod Chronicles. You can come up with your own idea of a title name.

What are your ideas for a Paper Mario 64 remake?

I really think the original Paper Mario really does deserve a remake. They could improve the original Paper Mario and get the series back to it's original roots.

Enhance the graphics (make it look like Sticker Star), fix the small issues the first game had, and add an extra bonus at the end.

That's a great idea. I'd love bonus content.

After the fake leak happened, I don't think people wan't to talk about Paper Mario remakes.

whoever made that is an asshole btw joke didn't stop to be funny yet

A remake of the original Paper Mario, huh? Well, obviously, graphics will be updated. Another thing I could see happening is the partners getting their own HP like how it was in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. The soundtrack would more than likely receive a remastering, but if they were to leave it as is, I'd still love it (that game's soundfont is amazing and truly one of a kind ;D )! The separate Badges for charging Mario's Jump and Hammer attacks can be put together into one badge, the Charge Badge from the sequel, which will get a Mega version just like this game did; also partners should no longer require a Badge for using Focus, and one thing I'd add that wasn't in TTYD is giving them their own FP. Another battle mechanic I think should be included from TTYD is Superguarding. The Tattle Log and a Trouble Center should also be in the game, the latter of which being one of the ways you get the Strange Sack, which allowed you to carry twice as much items in TTYD. If it were to be on 3DS, I can imagine a StreetPass feature identical to the one in Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, where players can battle other Marios (opponents taking on a dark appearance) in which their difficulty is based on the person's level and Badge Equipment as of the the time they passed by you. If it were to be on Wii U, I guess the Amiibos could be used for something, I'm not sure what at this point though... :-\

That's a pretty awesome idea.

I like that idea of having a partner have their own HP.

I'd rather they expand the dojo. Add more opponents and rematches with older enemies made stronger.

If they remade the original Paper Mario I think they should add a Pit of 100 Trials in somewhere.

Oh yeah, that too. It'd be awesome. Paper Mario remake (Paper Mario Chronicles/Paper Mario: The Star Rod Chronicles) would never be complete without it.

More or less yes.

Also in the final battle,
there should be a phase where Bowser is invincible and your Star Beam doesn't work. Basically in the original game, as soon as you fail at that attack once the cutscene starts. Instead they should make you survive a few turns of Bowser attacking you before the cutscene starts, like they did with the Shadow Queen.

I'd rather they not do that. No need to drag it out anymore than they need to.

Not to mention that powered Bowser does a fuck ton of damage.

One thing I'd like to get out there first is Rosalina and the Lumas should not be in the Paper Mario remake (I saw a retexture of PM that replaced the stars with Lumas). Knowing Nintendo, I suspect they'd put them in if they ever did a remake.
I don't see how Rosalina would even be in the remake without feeling extra shoe-horned in.

Rosalina rhymes with shoehorn.

How about more ---ing sidequests for starters. Nonfetch quests specifically

Good one right there.

I love sidequests. It's great for getting items.

Anyways, is Paper Mario Chronicles and/or Paper Mario: The Star Rod Chronicles a good name to title the remake?

Maybe some optional places for Mario to travel and maybe add some bosses or enemies that fit in the setting.

Perhaps if Mario finds a hole and gets inside, he is underground and will find Monty Moles and other stuff.

I don't think they should change the name any more than adding HD at the end (or 3D if it's on the 3DS)

If it's a remake of all three console games, then just add "trilogy" after it.

Nuuuuuuuu the rpgs are one of the only things Rosalina hasn't tainted yet.
