That would explain why the castle appears to change location so drastically from game to game.

Anyway, I wonder what could be the in-universe explanation for Wario going without Waluigi at Mushroom Kingdom events (Mario Kart 64, Mario Party 1 etc.) for a while before Mario Tennis happened. It's possible that, desperate for a tennis partner in the fastly approaching tennis tournaments, he took a magic cap, put it on a pole et voila, Waluigi was brought into existence.

Or, he used his scientific expertise to animate a humanoid monster cobbled up from parts of the corpses in his basement. Man, I like the idea of Waluigi being a sort of Frankenstein's monster brought to life by Wario, framing their relationship as guilty creator - wretched, pitiful, disgusting creation.

In Super Mario World, if the Green and Yellow ! Blocks in Mario World has feathers and mushrooms, then the Red and Blue ! Blocks should have Fire Flowers and Stars.
 
If it makes things easier to understand, Toads are not "genderless". It's just Toads individually go by they/them pronouns or any other similar enby pronouns while Toadette, Captain Toad, Toadsworth, Tayce T., etc do have specific pronouns.

I'd personally like if Toad, Yoshi, Kirby, etc went by "they/them" rather than "he/him"; perhaps it's more faithful to the original idea of their ambiguous pronouns?

But in the meantime I will refer to undefined individual enemies like Koopa, Boo, Goomba, etc as "they/them" too, so!

What if—and what follows is a very unrealistic hunch of mine, but I request everyone to hear me out—what if, provided the rumours are true, they went through the asiduous effort of actually making at least some of these games widescreen for the Switch, and the aforementioned tweet is a teaser of that very fact?

Just a random thought. Note that someone in the tweet's reply section actually measured the picture against the Switch's screen dimensions, and it doesn't fit in the frame, but I don't think this necessarily disproves anything.

Baby Mario and Baby Luigi should co-star with Mario and Luigi in a platformer game. in fact there should be more games with these four interacting with each other, and they should also compete with Bowser and Bowser Jr. in stupid competitions like kayaking. And why stop there? Have Peach/Daisy/Rosalina take care of Baby Peach and Baby Daisy or something. Baby Rosalina is the outlier because she's actually an evil genius.
