I hate when people say Mario and Charles Martinet are racist. That Mario is just a racist stereotype.

Ever since the movie took off, Martinet has been redefined by many, as if his work was always bad for the past 30 years.
 
People who argue this probably just do it in bad faith as the people that Mario stereotypes have zero issue with Mario, just as how most Mexican players have no issue with Sombrero Mario despite him being removed from the boxart for seemingly minimizing controversy (was never explained, that's what I'm guessing).
 
i can't believe charles martinet is racist because he says scripted things and follows a voice direction.

what's next are you telling me steve carell is racist because of his stereotypical russian accent on gru
 
"what a complete game" is what I think whenever I play SMB3 again after a while. It's impressive a nes game has so much in it.

I'm almost convinced Luigi becomes a shit disturber when he dresses up as a fox.

I was playing Mario Kart Tour and on two occasions I had a CPU-controlled Kitsune Luigi snag an entire circle of coins in front of me using his Raccoon Leaf special item. Another time, he grew big from a Mega Mushroom and somehow got stuck in the inner edge of a road curve, jamming multiple drivers including myself who were trying to take sharp turns. None of these were acts of direct and focused aggression, like you'd expect from the typical racer trying to attack you with items. No, he was just trying little by little to push others over the edge and make their life harder, which I'd say is an act far more insidious than even three consecutive blue shells.

It fascinates me that Super Mario 3D Land is the first game that Luigi gets the exclusive fox costume to differentiate himself from Mario, yet Luigi never gets accused of skinning foxes to account for the change, while Mario gets slandered for skinning raccoon dogs during that time (even though the costume Mario wears is obviously not from real animals).

Laymen don't realize Luigi's alternate forms exist. Just look at Silver Luigi, forgotten by even Mario fans.

Not sure how that relates to this thread but throughout hundreds if thousands of posts I've seen on the Internet, I have never seen a single "this is racist against white people" made in good faith. That meme relates to that.

I mean there are jokes in not good taste about white people, like a "most white people are racist" joke, even if minorities get targeted by racist humor more.

It's funny how people want certain parts to be nerfed in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and yet all that Nintendo did was add an invincibility statistic that affects how long your combo is invincible after taking damage. Sadly, the invincibility stat addition is the only thing that Nintendo can do without affecting the Time Trials game mode; not just the leaderboards, but also the staff ghosts.

And yet, even with the new stat, it really doesn't change much, since the parts that offer the longest invincibility lengths are still garbage to be using seriously.
 
Some of the Mario flash games were really good. Others were "interesting", with classic MIDI covers of various Mario music, awkward controls, weird stories, and concepts that failed or had potential. Still, it was worth it for the novelty alone back then.
 
Surely I can't be the only person who mentally confuses the soundtracks for Neo Bowser City and Toad's Turnpike, right? I feel like whenever I try to think of the Toad's Turnpike music, I end up getting stuck on the Neo Bowser City music instead.
