What was your first DVD and or Blu-ray Player folks? Which DVD and or Blu-ray Player have you owned? I had a standalone DVD player by Panasonic which was later replaced by a standalone Sony DVD Player which I had for a short time until I got my first Blu-ray player which was a Magnavox one. During the summer of 2014, I got a PlayStation 2 (the Fat model) which also plays DVDs. It gave me input lag on my Sony Bravia KDL-46VL160 LCD HDTV so I had to sell it.

A PC

I added the PC option.

I don't really know all the specific models. I remember back in the early days we had a laptop as the only thing with a DVD drive in the house and we plugged it into the PC so that we could see the video on a bigger screen and huddled around and that was the first time i saw Princess Mononoke. I'm pretty sure this wasn't our first standalone DVD player but another thing that sticks out in my mind was this monstrosity we had that you could actually put three DVDs in at once and it would switch them for you. Why anybody ever thought that was necessary is beyond me.

Our first Bluray player was a piece of garbage that barely god damn worked. It would freeze halfway through movies and the subs would never show up on Yumekui Merry.

I know for a fact that when the PS2 came out, it was mostly used for playing back DVDs. It was also considered to be the fastest selling DVD player on the market and was many people's first DVD player.

I own a playstation 2, but I use a VHS + DVD combo player (DVDs on one end, VHS on the other) to play DVDs all the time. And that was also my first DVD player

I do not own a Blu Ray Player and neither does anyone else in my family.

also my pc doesnt have a disc tray, rip.

My first DVD player was a DVD player. Not sure what else there is to it it's just a DVD player let's leave it at that

Same but I also had a VCR that played all these old movies when I was really young. I loved it.

Well, since the PS2 is one of the best selling consoles of all time, I know that a majority of people have it but some don't.

So you had no PS2 at the time.

- First DVD player was the one my brother bought about a year after they came out?
- Had a bunch of cheapo DVD players since, along with an Xbox 360 that red ringed, a PS3 and a PS4.
- First Bluray player was PS3. Also have (like mentioned before) a PS4 and I think my sister and dad have ones of their own.

Also PC / laptops / etc but that should be a given.

So PS2 isn't winning even thought it was the best selling console of all time.

That's sad.

Back in Christmas of 05 or so I got a DVD player

it was a koss or something and it had a glow-in-the dark remote

shit was cash

first movies idk but i think it was either a ghostbusters or back to the future collection

Ps2 wrecked all my dvds, fuck that shit

my dad bought a dvd player just so he could justify buying the lord of rings boxset, i think this was back in 2002 or 2003

we've had a couple more but we only bought a bluray player about a month ago
