What are your favorite genres of games?

There are so many types of genres of games. Which ones are your favorites and which ones appeal to you?

For me, my favorite genres are the side scrolling platformer, Metroidvania, Action, Adventure, racing/driving, and RPG genres.

I like platformers, RPGs, puzzle games, and racing games.

I guess open-ended sandbox games like Garry's Mod or the Adventure Creator in Spore are my absolute favorite genre of games.

mostly everything out of this list except for third person shooters, shoot em ups, rts (i used to be into the genre but nowadays i tend to avoid strategy games because i suck at them), sports and of course sim games.

But most of all RPGs

rts is my favorite, although i'm not very good at it. i play a ton of dota, which is moba/arts/whatever you want to call it. i personally think it's an rpg/rts but whatever

Action-Adventures set in an interesting, coherent environment with well-written and/or engaging characters. Open world if possible.

Collaborative sandbox games.

Funny collectathlon platformers.
