I mean, those are also the same colours (though not the same pattern) as Meowser.
 
That it would have more in common with that then Daisy.

Not that it matters since the only reason those cats look different is because you have to bring them to their mother like they were penguins.
 
I mean the calico color design and choices are intended to reflect on Daisy's background. It's a cute reference and design choice made by a fan. I don't see the reason to compare it to an existing work and then come off as devaluing a thoughtful design?
