Poll Talk

The only Animal Crossing game I ever played was New Leaf, but I guess Option 2; it's nice to see Mario items in other games but they shouldn't go overboard with them.

Option 5. I've never played AC, so I have no opinion.

Option 2.
However, I'm curious of Nintendo's n'intentions on their recent crossover endeavors. The drivers of MK8D, and the roles of Miis.. the lines start to blur. Where does the Marioverse begin and end?

New POLL~~

I would use marquee text to make that text autoscroll in very appropriate fashion for this poll, but unfortunately I don't think the New XenoForums have that option. Sad day....

Many Mario platforming games, both 2D and 3D, have autoscrolling levels. Would you like to see more autoscrolling levels in Mario games?

  • Autoscrolling levels offer fun gameplay, and I would like to see autoscrolling added to more levels in future titles.
  • Autoscrolling levels should only be included sparingly, as they are now, and I don't feel we need more or fewer autoscrolling levels in future titles.
  • I don't particularly like autoscrolling levels, and would prefer to see fewer of them in new releases.
  • Autoscrolling levels are not fun and should be excluded from new games altogether.
  • I don't care how many autoscrolling levels are included in Mario platformers.

Option 2. I like 'em alright, but they're just fine at the level they're currently at.

I'm another Option 2 person; I prefer by somewhat of a bit normal levels over autoscrolling levels but autoscrolling levels can provide an extra challenge here and there. But a decent amount over half of levels should be normal, even though I'd be fine with more than, say, one autoscrolling level per game like Option 3 means.

Does Odyssey have any? I'm for Option 2 mostly, maybe option 1 for mission based 3D platformers.

Option 4. I hate autoscrollers and don't find any fun in them at all. Especially if they're too fast for me to focus.

Option 2, I'm not in the "I hate autoscrollers" camp but I don't really need to see more either.

Does Odyssey have any? I'm for Option 2 mostly, maybe option 1 for mission based 3D platformers.
Been a while since I played Odyssey but I think there's some Moons that are sort of autoscroll-ish, like that one 8-bit segment where you have to keep moving with the background otherwise you turn 3D and fall into a pit, but no "true" autoscrolling segments.

Neutral towards them. Auto scrollers do have advantages and disadvantages but I generally prefer being in control of my screen.

I love them in Smash Bros. however.

They're alright, it's just frustrating if I die many times and I have to go through the level again at its set pace just to reach where I left off. A way to speed it up (like holding down a shoulder button) would be useful.

Here's the new poll that came out yesterday
Mario Kart: Double Dash!! featured the ability to use two drivers at once. Would you like to see this feature return?
-Using two drivers should return in all of the game modes.
-Using two drivers should return as a specific mode or option, but other modes should allow using one driver.
-Using two drivers should not return, but I would like to see a different co-op form debut.
-Using two drivers should not return, nor should other new co-op forms appear.
-I have no opinion on whether two-driver mode should return.

I voted for Option 2; I think a two-character mode would be great, but it wouldn't be good if players were not allowed to use one character.

Option 2. I'd love to see the mode return, but I want people who didn't like it in Double Dash (or Tag Team Racing or Cartoon Network Racing) to still just use one racer. That way, both sides are happy.

Nah, I don't want two characters in one vehicle return. I'd want a dedicated co-op thing like Team Sonic Racing or Mario Kart Arcade GP DX's tank, however. Two characters per kart can work if like, the characters on the back had a much more fun time shooting items and engaged in more forms of vehicular combat at other people, in which double dash, they sat there around idly like 80% of the race.

New poll! Since I was the first voter
Nintendo has released three mobile Mario games since 2016. Which one is your favorite?
-Super Mario Run
-Dr. Mario World
-Mario Kart Tour
-I have not played any mobile Mario games.
-I do not have a preference.

Option 5 for me, I only played Super Mario Run a bit in 2018 but it never stuck with me that much at all.

Dr. Mario World is the only one I played, it has Dr. Baby Luigi in it, so that's cool. I hate Mario Kart Tour though. Super Mario Run is probably the best one because you pay upfront and you get the fucking game, like a normal ass video game, rather than begging you to spend increments of money on worthless jpegs of jewels to spin a casino roulette to get crap items.

Option 5. The only mobile Mario game I've played is Super Mario Run (the free version). As such, I don't have a lot of experience with the rest of the games to form an opinion on this matter.

Option 3, because I'm actually given some incentive to play it through bimonthly updates--plus, I favour its score attack-focused gameplay over other Mario Karts. Mario Run falls pretty short as far as Mario platformers go, and I haven't played Dr. Mario World.

I picked what should have already been obvious to everyone who knows me: Dr. Mario World (that's Option 2). I am already expecting to be a minority here, given how generally indifferent the opinions on that game is.

I applaud the three games for doing something different for mobile, like how Super Mario Run becomes an autorunner and operates under the single button input, Mario Kart Tour's combo system for its tracks, and then there's Dr. Mario World's deep mechanics compared to the traditional Dr. Mario game. In fact, of the three, Dr. Mario World is a much more revolutionary game for how much uncharted territory it took compared to a lot of Dr. Mario games, and it's all the better for it. Moreover, Dr. Mario World delivers on one promise that Nintendo's mobile initiatives is set to achieve: to offer a different experience compared to the console equivalents. The main difference compared to the other two mobile games, in my opinion, is that the mobile version is much better gameplay-wise compared to the traditional Dr. Mario, especially the Versus mode, that it's a shame that it ended up pretty soon.

I guess my desire to contribute to the wiki in a big way may have coloured my opinion, though I am not sure if it's worth it due to the general indifference towards the game.

Thank you for reading.

So, how about that leak, huh?

With a follow-up movie confirmed in the post-credits scene, which rumored villain and voice actor would you like to see appear in the next Mario movie?
  • Bowser Jr., voiced by Zac Efron
  • Fawful, voiced by Danny Devito
  • Shadow Queen, voiced by Zendaya
  • Count Bleck, voiced by Ed Helms
  • Waluigi, voiced by Richard Ayoade
  • Tatanga, voiced by Vin Diesel
  • Cackletta, voiced by Angelina Jolie
  • Smithy, voiced by James Earl Jones
  • Lucien, voiced by Morgan Freeman
  • Miyamoto, voiced by Shigeru Miyamoto

Morgan Freeman as Lucien is an unorthodox casting choice, but, then, Lucien coming back for the sequel movie is pretty unorthodox, too, so I'm hoping that's the route things go.

Cackletta. We need some M&L representation, and she'd be perfect as a villain.

I voted Zendaya as Shadow Queen because I know both fairly well.
