Welcome to the character election! It seems that :toadette:, previously a Mario Kart-exclusive character, eventually spread to other spin-offs, two Mario RPGs, Super Mario Run, and recently a real main-series game, Super Mario Odyssey! That being said, Nintendo's bound to do it with someone else. Who will it be? Waluigi is a fine candidate; I mean, if Toadette made it, Waluigi is bound to (he has been around four years longer than Toadette anyway)! Here is a full list of candidates:

If you would like to nominate another character, please reply to this post no later than my birthday, December 14th (2017). The character must meet these requirements:
  • The character must have never appeared in a Super Mario series game, with related games like Super Mario Run included. However, the character is still eligible if he appears in Super Mario Maker.
  • The character must not already be nominated.
  • The character should not have debuted in a main-series game but then became exclusive to spin-offs (like Princess Daisy).
  • Since Super Mario Odyssey is a fairly new game, I will remind you of this: do not nominate Toadette! Although previously a spinoff-exclusive character, she appeared in both Run and Odyssey and no longer qualifies.
  • Popularity of the character does not matter. You can still nominate some of the worst characters.
  • It must be a character, not a generic enemy. For example, you cannot nominate Shroob or Gromba.
  • I will not update the poll. If you nominate a character, vote for Option 10 ("the character I want is not listed").
Additionally, you may change your vote at any time. If you vote, please explain why in a reply to this post. The poll results will be invisible until the 14th.
 
Definitely Waluigi. He has the popularity to back him up.
 
Weird choices.
 
I voted for Waluigi because he's practically the only "main" character that is yet to be featured in the Super Mario series. To clarify on "main", basically Waluigi regularly appears in spin-off character selections, so he's a good fit for the main games.

My second choice would likely be Huey, who is unique among Paper Mario characters in that he has a 3D form, so he could feasibly appear in a 3D Mario game without too much of an issue. I guess the story of that game makes him less likely to appear, but if Cappy's shown us anything, Huey's a pretty cool guy to be a companion.

A third choice would be Brighton and Twila, who appear in Mario Party, since none of the Mario Party characters appear in any other Mario branch as of now. These two characters are best fitted in a Super Mario game, I feel.

Waluigi seems to be the obvious choice.

Everything else ... what were you smoking when making the options honestly.
 
Uh...I don't smoke (well, I'm 12). I was just trying to provide additional options, even though :waluigi: and :dk: are obvious choices. In a nutshell, I was brainstorming. Also, DK, Brighton, and Twila were added via nominations. I didn't include DK in the poll because I had no idea that he had never appeared in a Super Mario game. Still, :waluigi: and :dk: should come before everyone else. :wario: needs to come back to the main series as well.
 
Of course, it's Waluigi. He needs to be in the main games as a semi-villain.

And Wario's villainy status (from SML2: 6 Golden Coins) needs to come back as well.
 
Ok but what about Captain Toadette. Or is Captain Toadette actually Toadette but she's doing equal work without the title.

Not sure if you have played Super Mario Odyssey, but...

Toadette in Captain's attire does indeed appear in that game.

I have three notes for you:
  • I think I said that you can't nominate Toadette. I also explained why.
  • I'm not going to use the singular "they" or "he/she". I'm going to use "he", and you should get used to it. I shall ignore all replies to this note...so don't reply to this note (note 2).
  • You know what? I'm nominating Fawful. Sure, :waluigi: and :dk: are higher priority than him, but he still needs a chance.

if you want people to take you seriously you should actually be open to feedback, otherwise you look kind of narrow-minded. telling people not to reply to something you typed in le same post without just cause is especially silly since we're on a forum and the entire entire point of discussion forums is to discuss what others are saying

I was only talking about Note 2 because that is kind of off-topic and those debates go on forever. (I actually spawned one with a certain wiki proposal; I cancelled it within the hour.) Notes 1 and 3 are open to reply. Basically, this was the point of each of my notes:
  • Someone nominated Toadette, which I said earlier was off-limits.
  • Someone got mad that I used "he" as a gender-neutral word.
  • I wanted to nominate Fawful.

Shroobs and Tatanga should have been in Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. If there's a 3rd I hope they're in it. Obviously it's highly unlikely.

I'm afraid that they are not eligible for nomination, as...
  • Shroobs are not characters, but I can add Princess Shroob and Elder Princess Shroob to the list, if you want.
  • SML counts as a main-series game, so sorry, Tatanga!
 
Other than Waluigi, the poll choices are weird. I wouldn't mind seeing some of those though. Since Fawful's in your OP list though, I have to pick him. Even though I can't reasonably expect a significant role, even a cameo would be fantastic.
 
Waluigi? Although he be good, I thinking of a better candidate. One that I will like way more. And it is Starlow. Sorry, but Fawful exploded and likely never to return... although he was in the remake of Superstar Saga like Starlow. Timpani/Tippi is my second option.
 
Even ignoring Fawful (and every dead character for that matter) Starlow is still far from the best the RPGs have come up with. How about Peasley.

I'd like Timpani if she was made into a human female design like the current human females. But only if Blumiere appeared too, with a redesign of his own. Though I don't think the main series is the best place for that since it still has a story, albeit less of it. Characters who have strong ties to a particular game or story can be used, but ideally in non-story games where nothing makes sense story-wise anyway. Like anything multiplayer/competitive oriented. But a main series cameo is always nice.
