I don't even know if this will be Sm4sh Switch or Smash 5. It may be the latter because of its logo.

If it were for Smash 4, do you think they would have used the typical trailer opening that the used for all the other Smash 4 characters?

If it was just Smash 4, why bother not showing footage when we have an idea what it looks like already, just sightly prettier? Plus, BOTW Link and not Twilight Princess Link

I was watching the direct with five of my friends and we all fucking erupted with excitement. SMASH BROS IS BACK BABY.

Inkling was expected and BOTW Link is fun. Let the pre release hype begin again!

i think i spy marth and kirby too but i can't make out anything else

2018 is a genuine pleasant shock. If this is Smash 5, they must have been working on it for a while to get a release this year. And the title not having "deluxe" or "for Nintendo Switch" implies it is Smash 5.

I'm afraid it will get delayed, though. While it did seem like they were reversing the trend of delays with their release date predictions for SMO, Arms, and Splat 2, those all said what season it was coming as well as the year while this is just 2018.

I am hoping this is a new Smash game, but I have a feeling it's a port since it's released this year. I never gotten any of the DLC in case there is a Smash for the Switch (at that time called NX).

I can make out Peach (between DK and Marth). I think Luigi is beside Bowser.
