this is the only time I've ever drawn her, and it was completely from memory. Oh. I thought you had made Bowsette or something. XD

Anyways, I apologize if it's legitimately that disturbing, I sometimes forget how whittled my standards are in many cases.

Oh. I thought you had made Bowsette or something. ;D

It's not that scary, sarcasm is one of my famous traits.

Nah, the current trend of "Bowsette," as she was later named, originated from a cutesy 4-panel gag comic strip depicting an alternate take on the ending of Super Mario Odyssey made about 5 days ago, and it just exploded to frick and back. The original creator later made a follow-up of their own, involving the "Bad-Anon" from Wreck-it Ralph in a state of awkwardness. So yeah, pretty innocent origins.

Anyways, the Peachette page that I for the most part was the one to construct was heavily used in these various permutations of that, if statistics are anything to go by, and may have even been used for the original.

Meaning I have some degree of responsibility for this whole mess. But honestly that's fine, I can deal with inadvertently helping to start a somewhat-kinky fad icon. It's the amount that's bothering me.

As for the scariness or lack thereof, I've haven't been able to be too sure of how potentially-scarring things I make are after one specific night I had, though the moral of that story is "Don't introduce yourself to a horror-based series like Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared by marathoning the whole thing at night."

yeah it's obnoxious, but let other people enjoy it. like any internet trend, it'll just fade and die eventually when it stops being hip. give it a month or two.

Less than a week, actually, which only makes the amount of it worse. Yeah, it needs to seriously grind to either a halt or at least a much slower version of itself (maybe 20 pictures a day instead of 20,000?), but, as I said before, it will soon, as it's peaked far too early and at once to last long.

Unfortunately, it would appear that instead of dying completely it is being replaced by a King Boo variant. Surely that one won't last, and dangit I just jinxed it didn't I. I only know this from even weirder friends of mine, by the way, quit it with the weird looks.

But uhh, try to limit the word "cringe," it's gotten so overused it itself is the one of the cringiest things ever.

Hey, I'm new to wiki edits and all that shenanigans, how do I edit the Peachette page? There's 2 other trailers for NSMBUD that show Peachette, the Announcment Trailer, and the Switch News Tab Trailer, and I wanted to add them to the references. Is that doable?

Page is protected to Autoconfirmed and above to avoid vandalism, but what do you got?

The 2nd one is the UK announcment trailer, the first one being the US one.

Swapped the trailer already there for the official US one, don't need the UK one.

Well, looks like my indirect influence has spread to GMod.

You know what? I'm going to start taking stride in what I have helped to exacerbate.

I mean, with the mad scientist name, what else was I supposed to do? Something not evil?
.....I just wish it had turned out.....slightly different.

Cool I can make a gag comic about it, this time, with anti-humor in that nothing happens to the characters wearing it.

I'm just counting the days till this dies.

Stuff like this makes me laugh because lewd drawings of characters and gender swapped characters are nothing new, yet people are acting like this is a new trend. This particular wave of art just happens to be widespread.

Let people draw their art, it does no harm to you.

i'm pretty sure this kind of art dates ever since art was a thing

It's certainly a larger onslaught than most other trends of the type. I have been on long enough, albeit as an observer; I initially found MarioWiki around the fourth grade, and found....that accursed part of the internet somewhat shortly thereafter when I scrolled too far down in Google Images after searching "Koopa." I did not have an online presence, however, until after graduating high school.

Anyways, yes, this particular idea has existed in various places for many many many years, it's just that the addition of an official item (and being shown on Twitter the past year) has brought it more to mainstream attention with potential permutations. That's why it's gotten....overly-massive. At any rate, it seems to have began gradually slowing down, as I said it would.

Yes, Nintendo is indeed getting kinkier. Or less self-aware about stuff like that.
Anyways, I'm back to reveling in the disarray I've unintentionally helped sow.
BWAHAHAHAHAAA!

....I'm sad inside now. I've probably indirectly sent thousands down weird paths. All by doing my job as a wiki writer.

My main problem (aside from the etymology) is the cliché exaggeration of certain assets. You can tell right off the bat that most of these artists are male, and I hate it. Not helping men's reputation at all.

i am strictly reminded that gaming is a boy's club and it makes me feel uncomfortable

Some are trans and jealous that they don't have them. Just sayin'. Also I'm acquaintanced with a female artist who sometimes draws them a bit exaggerated. And yes, I know she's female, I've heard her voice.

Admittedly, her takeaway from the Super Crown was more....in adherence to the actual game. And quite innocuous and innocent.

Well, I don't know if this is reassuring or if it now sounds smug because of me putting this part here but I think it would have caught on anyway; the amount of people who watched the Direct and saw the explanation there is almost definitely a lot higher than the amount of people who went to the wiki page for this and got the idea as a result

Not for the idea in general, just the text describing it. I went into detail to prevent it from being a stub. That just....clicks with some people. I probably turned a vague idea into a more concrete "OK, it should look like this then, adding these traits while removing these."

But really, when things like Phanto and the fricken Angry Sun are getting in on the permutation train, it's going to far, even by my standards.

The earlier "innocent" and "innocuous" thing I mentioned before, on the other hand, was scripted to the end before the Direct was even over.

Personally, I believe you had virtually nothing to do with it. Someone else would have written the wiki article if you hadn't. I don't think you describing it in detail affected it either, since people could have easily figured it out themselves.
