With Lego Mario sets being a thing now and Nintendo having involvement with Lego City Undercover, it might not be out of the realm for a Lego Mario game to happen, Lego games always have a shit ton of characters and some no one would expect, here we speculate the cast if one should happen
My bet is these would undoubtedly be included if such a game was made

This is extremely unlikely to happen. You should at least try to be realistic so your expectations don't get crushed if a game actually does come into fruition.
 
Regardless of the news, if it's like any other LEGO game, it'd usually include most known characters from that franchise. example : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sQdO2x198k

My real question is whether NIntendo themselves is still the production team since Mario is a video game franchise, or they'd just provide the license for LEGO to develop it with other teams like how those LEGO games were made.
