Well, lucky for you, our dedicated writers and staff members have worked hard to prepare a post-Awards issue of The 'Shroom! Please, take a look at Issue 161! We're all recovering from Awards, but there's still plenty of content for you to enjoy within it, and we are preparing a few final big surprises for you to close out the year.

Hello, readers and writers of The 'Shroom! Every month, we members of the staff, with the cooperation of our writers, strive to get the issue out on the date scheduled in The 'Shroom's calendar - that date being the third Saturday of the month. Thanks to everyone's hard work, we have thus far met that goal every month this year.

We're capable of doing the same this month, but after some internal discussion, we've reached the conclusion that it's not in our best interest to do that this month. Everyone in The 'Shroom staff has had a particularly busy month, and working time has become a little cramped because of it. Life tosses out obstacles at times, and we've received comments from multiple staff members that just a little extra time this month would go a very long way in helping them to get their work done without experiencing a crunch period. Most all of us on the staff would benefit from the extra time, even if we'd be able to get our work done on the normal schedule.

Our priority is always our staff and our writers first, and the project immediately afterwards. To all of our writers who submitted your sections on time in accordance with the usual deadlines and to all of our readers who were looking forward to the issue on Saturday, I apologize, but we have decided to delay the release of September's issue 162 to Monday, September 21st. This small delay will give us the weekend to fit a little additional work in without the burden of crunchtime, and help us ensure that we put out an issue of The 'Shroom with all of the quality you've come to expect.

Please understand that this is an exception, not the norm, and that our choice to delay this issue was made with the intent of ensuring that The 'Shroom releases with the level of quality we strive to deliver while also accommodating the needs of our staff.

We won't be making any additional delays, as we understand that this delay is, as small as it is, going to tighten deadlines for October as it is. We hope that keeping this delay as small as possible will make it as non-disruptive as possible for next month.

Thank you all for your understanding, and, please, look forward to the release of issue 162 on Monday! I can assure you that we have a slate of excellent sections, including some new debuts!
