Hypothetical wishes for future Ultimate DLC

Let me open by stating this clearly: There will not be any more DLC characters added to Ultimate after Fighter's Pass 11, and there probably won't be more DLC period. I'm not going to speculate that there'll be more surprises down the road, because of how clearly stated the finality of this wave of DLC has been. The point of this thread is not to say they're going to add a surprise Waluigi Fighter's Pass 12. Instead, we're looking at this from a personally speculative angle.

What if character 11 wasn't confirmed to be the final DLC coming to Smash? If the door was still open for future additions, what form would you want the DLC rollout to take, and who would you want to see included?

For myself, I love the idea of Ultimate lasting for the rest of the Switch's lifespan, so I think having occasional rollout relevant fighters would be fun. Most of these characters would be Nintendo-exclusive, and wouldn't have to come with a new stage or music tracks. It'd just be "hey here's a character who's appropriate right now, have fun."
I imagine it following a format of "they'll be announced when they're announced, and released when they're released", so it becomes something like:
-June 2022: Cinderace, to represent Sword and Shield, announced and released
-December 2022: EMMI, to represent Metroid Dread, announced and released
-May 2023: New Splatoon character, to represent Splatoon 3, announced and released
-December 2023: Impa, to represent AoC/BotW2, announced and released

And so on and so forth. I could picture new characters being even more sparing than that, but they'd release just as a bonus extra character for fun, $4-5 a pop

The other thing I'd want to see is an Echo Fighters Pass/Pack, because I feel like there were a lot of opportunities for echo fighters that were missed. Gooigi, Funky Kong, Octoling, and plenty of others would serve as good additional characters to toss in because they already have the base fighters

But how about you? Would you want a Pack 3 of extra DLC? Would you just want new stages every eight months? Would you want no more DLC at all? Let us know
 
I want all of the stages that have yet to return to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This includes:

  • Sector Z
  • Planet Zebes
  • Flat Zone (by itself, not with Flat Zone X)
  • Mushroom Kingdom
  • Icicle Mountain
  • Mute City
  • Poke Floats
  • Flat Zone 2 (by itself, not with Flat Zone X)
  • PictoChat (by itself, the original one)
  • Rumble Falls
  • Rainbow Road
  • Pac Maze
  • Wooly World
  • Jungle Hjinx
  • Pyrosphere
  • Orbital Gate Assault
  • Miiverse

New characters aren't really all that hype for me since I just stick with one or two characters, especially since my game is modded.

Also, I want returning items as well. Need Red Shell, Cracker Launcher, Barrel Cannon, and Parasol to feel complete.

Return some Assist Trophies and Pokemon too.

In terms of fighters my only must-have is Waluigi at this point and after that I'm good. Sans would be cool but he works pretty well as a costume so I'm fine with not getting him as a fighter proper. For games that don't have any rep right now, I'd like to see the Goose and Amaterasu as fighters. I also kind of want Mach Rider just because of how absurd the idea of a fighter who constantly rides a motorcycle is. To expand on other franchises that already have fighters, I'd like to see Dixie, Funky, Ashley, Dr. Eggman, Knuckles, and Shadow.

Bomberman, Crash Bandicoot, Master Chief, Phoenix Wright, Professor Layton, Rayman, Shantae, and Shovel Knight would also be neat to see in Smash just because of how popular they are but I don't really have strong feelings about them getting in or not.

Also yes, bring back every stage ever please. I want to play on Poke Floats!
 
I can already understand why some of the stages were scrapped, either due to redundancy or other reasons (e.g., Jungle Hijinxs has a background that would not translate well into Stage Morph, Miiverse is already dead).

With that out of the way, some of the characters I'd like to see as hypothetical future DLC are Scorpion (toned down for a family-friendly audience like with Bayonetta), Quote from Cave Story, and Arle Nadja from the Puyo Puyo series.

Returning some items and Assist Trophies/Poké Ball Pokémon sounds like a good idea. I'd most like to see Helirin, Jill, Infantry and Tanks, Elec Man, Wobbuffet, Celebi, Jirachi, and Bonsly return.

We still have Pokemon Stadium 1 & 2 and both Animal Crossing stages; Sector Z still plays very uniquely from Corneria due to its large size and much more powerful Arwings, while Melee Mushroom Kingdom and Planet Zebes is just a different stage from the SSB Mushroom Kingdom and Brinstar respectively. Not to mention, Mute City has the "SNES" moniker in front of it despite Mute City not being in the game. Most stages are unique though, like Pac-Maze, Rainbow Road, Orbital Gate Assault, Wooly World, Pyrosphere, etc though so that's when I think they ran out of resources than there were tangible reasons. I also think the Stage Morph reason is pretty weak, there are absolutely ways around it such as auto teleport back to the foreground when it's about to morph or don't even make it selectable for Stage Morph at all.
 
I want more music from franchises that have already been represented in Smash added in Smash Ultimate. More Mario music, Pokémon music, Zelda music, DK music, Banjo music and Sonic music.

Darth Vader, though it's a way out-there wish considering Sakurai more or less already ruled out "fourth-party" characters.

In terms of video game characters, I'd really like to see someone from Overwatch, especially if they follow the Min Min/Pythra model and add D.Va rather than Tracer.

Oh yes, absolutely. They make Nintendo look like the good guys when in reality ACAB (All Corporations Are Bad). That said, you can enjoy the art while hating the company behind it, and I would spazz if D.Va got into Smash. And I'm sure others would do the same for Rayman.
 
If D. Va does get into smash Zarya better appear as a spirit.

It's too late for this one, but I REALLY wish they'd made brand-new bosses for the end of each DLC fighter's Classic Mode route, like Gruntilda for Banjo & Kazooie, Ender Dragon for Steve, Ansem (Seeker of Darkness) for Sora, etc.
