Well mario never actually kisses peach,always has a strained smiles around mario,and has a "close" relationship to some of the other princesses.

Peach is not lesbian. LGTB characters weren't usual in the 80s and 90s, and Mario was created in 1985. Super Mario saga was created for kids (but no kids only) and if LGTB characters were scarce then, they were specially in kids entertainment.

other example outside the Marioverse: some people says Tintin and Captain Haddock are gays because they live together and haven't got girlfriend. But they can't be gays since Hergé was a catholic and homosexuality is a sin (so he would have never created gay heroes). There were close friends and that's all. Why Tintin and Haddock never had a girlfriend? Because it wasn't necesary for their adventures.

In the same way, Peach always kiss Mario in a cheek and Mario don't kiss her because is enought to the purpose of the game: Peach fits with the damsel in distress trope and Mario with the hero trope, and for Nintendo, that's enought. The game don't need to get deep in their relationship, because the purpose of the game is to pass the levels, get the secrets and etc.
 
As far as I can tell, Peach has never been madly in love with other females.

You know in actuality there are two separate terms, homosexual and homoromantic. I think in a kids' series everyone is asexual by default but their romantic affiliations are well whatever the character artist wants to make them be. Peach would technically be heteroromantic by this definition.

I know people say lesbian and homosexual when discussing children's characters for the sake of simplicity without delving into jargon but I thought I'd post this to let others know.

Honestly, there's been trans characters (Birdo and Vivian), so it isn't a stretch to say that there is lesbian/gay/bi characters as well. And it may or may not be Peach. It's all up to interpretation.

Well the manual might have had mentioning of Birdo's gender stuff but every other adaptation (and subsequent reappearance) has mostly gone out of it's way to bury that ever being a thing. So by and large the point still stands, more often then not kids media avoid stuff like that, or at least did at the time.

You may disagree with me but I have exposed my reasons to think she isn't lesbian, so is not true mu post is a simple "no because no".

Vivian and Birdo are male but they identify themselves as female, but Vivian was created in 2004, 19 years after Peach. Birdo is from 1988 but, in my opinion, that kind of characters weren't the same concept as an homosexual character.

other example outside the Marioverse: in "the famous five" books (books for kids published since 1940s to 1960s), there are a girl called Georgina that looks like a boy (short hair and etc), and hates be called by her name, so begs everyone "call me George", but there's no mention in that books about her homosexuality. So I think before our era, characters whose biological sex don't fit with their expected behaviour appeared sometimes in kids entertainment, but that's not the case of homosexuality.

I may be wrong, I am not a wise man, but I expose my reasons, so you can refute me if my posts have mistakes, but in any case, my posts are not a mere "no because no"

No, they just are female. They were assigned male but they aren't male. Describing trans people based on what they were assigned at birth, rather than the person they have become, is a regressive way of doing things.

I mean, of course, at first it would take people a little to get used to new pronouns and such, naturally, but as far as I'm concerned, as soon as someone figures out that they are a certain gender (or even genderless!), they should be identified as such.
 
Also saying that trans people 'identify' as something is hella iffy too. Like I don't 'identify' as a non-binary woman, I am a non-binary woman.

I mean I know we're talking about fictional trans characters here, but the point remains the same.

sorry for asking (and being off topic), it's a genuine question and I'm stupid and don't know much: how can you be non-binary AND a woman? Sorry if the question sounds rude, it's just that I associate being nb with neither being male or female.

According to Nintendo canon, they are male in a biological way. They are biologically male even they don't identify themselves as male, and that's were I mean when I said they are male. All replies that deny that there are a biological male or female sexes, based in genetical and morphological objetive facts will be considered by me as pseudo-scientific.

In any case, I don't wish to argue about that points because they usually cause fights, and I don't like that, so:

1.If someone deny biology, it's not worth to argue with that person for obvious reasons.
2. If someone don't deny biology but disagree with me about non-related Mario subjetcs, I won't reply because I came to this forum to talk about Super Mario and not about ideologies or policies… that subjects are source of fights and I don't like that.

I am transfeminine and I consider womanhood to encompass all female and feminine gender identities, therefore I am both non-binary and a woman.
