Ideas I had for an alternate timeline version of the Paper Mario series:

Super Mario Story: Super Mario RPG 2
Super Mario Story 2: The Thousand-Year Door
Super Mario Dimensions: Super Mario Story 3 (a version of Super Paper Mario's story that retains the basic gameplay formula of the previous games)
Mario Story: Royal Radiance (this would resemble the beta version of Sticker Star that more resembled the earlier entries)

And idk after that because the series took such a different thematic direction it's hard to adapt the rest of it to this timeline. Yes some of these names are heavily inspired by the naming format of Yoshi's Island & the Mario Advance games.
 
Super Mario Sunshine -> The Clean Up Brigade
Super Mario Galaxy -> The Mario vs Bowser Space Epic
Super Mario Galaxy 2 -> The Mario vs Bowser Space Epic (Director's Cut)
Super Mario 3D Land -> Super Mario Bros but with the Tanooki suit in 3D
Super Mario 3D World -> The Cat-tastic Adventures of Mario and Friends
