What game did you last play?!?!?!?

Civilization IV, using the Dawn of Civilization mod (my preferred way to play the game)

Started a new game as France, it's currently the early 18th century, and I've colonized a big chunk of North America and part of South America.

Vive l'empire!

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse

Left my save file at 99% for a long time, but it's time to change that! I've beaten most of the remaining challenges in Challenge Mode, with the remaining challenges requiring me to go beat the bosses in levels 3 through 7 with no damage. Doing so with Level 2's boss was already insane...I don't expect this to be easy.

I still think that this game is a masterpiece and the greatest Kirby spinoff of all time.

Dr Mario World

Reached: Level 49
Current doctors: Dr. Mario, Dr. Toad
Current assistants: Lakitu (2), Goomba, Peepa, Fuzzy, Star Bunny, Scuttlebug

If anybody played this game, are my assistants good?

Thank you for reading.

Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War

Sakurai's favorite FE. Although I didn't play around much, was just seeing if it was working. I actually managed to take the Japanese rom and patch the latest translation that exists onto it, and now it's completely in English. I'm looking forward to playing some more.

Super Mario World

I also tried this while I was at it. It feels a tiny bit clunky to control at times but overall I see where the praise is coming from. I'm enjoying my time pretty well.

Yup. Not for FE Genealogy, but yeah this is the first time playing SMW.

So far I'd say the cape is pretty fun to use. World map is also pretty nicely designed, far as I can tell.

Snes version feels harder to control, although that may be because the keyboard control configuration I have is adapted mainly to play Fire Emblem (which is the majority of games I play on my PC, or at least the ones I put the most time into). Even then, the physics can be kinda off-putting if I'm being honest. Also, it's not that op here because of the delay that takes place between each midair jump.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land

Just finished it again, with all 120 Energy Spheres. My completion percentage reads 94% (I didn't do the challenges on this file), and I'll probably leave it that way given I already beat it 200% on my other file. Fun game and it was nice revisiting it.

Super Mario Party

I just wanna say I got 6 stars in that last 5 turns of Megafruit Paradise, because one kept spawning near the gold pipe shop and then I had the Daisy ally dice that guaranteed me enough spaces to reach it, so I just used 5 Golden Pipes and on the last turn the pipe took me to the island with Lakitu and I stole a star. The Easy AI got second, as it does.

Mario Party 7

I was getting railed by the bob-omb chests for the first 25 turns but I turned it around at the end despite every 4-Player mini-game turning into a Battle mini-game and every orb being given out for free being the Piranha Plant that steals half a players coins, because I had 400 coins and the others had like 40. I couldn't dodge it for another 25 turns and eventually Koopa Kid just split my coins among everyone and we all had 100 coins. The Pink Boo orbs I placed early in the game took effect in the last 5 turns where I got 4 stars from people landing on them. The Easy AI got second, as it does.

This game really pushes first place down as hard as it can with the bowser events and orb distribution. Ironically upping the prices of the orbs in the shop guaranteed me the orb shopping bonus star.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

I still got it. Except for when I don't. I felt real good when a blue shell was coming so I dropped the bob-omb early so that 2nd place would get hit for the same amount of time as me and then I won. and purposefully running into the Freezies in Sherbet Land to dodge the blue shell. I don't actually know if there's any difference in stun time between the two but it made me feel big brained therefore I will continue to live in ignorance.

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island

Playing this game for the first time, and it's actually really good! I'll have to play more before I can judge how it compares to other Yoshi games I've played, but the first game is really fun and still plays well today.

How do you feel it compares to SMW?

How different is it from SMW?

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed

The only worlds I've S-Ranked are the first and last ones, and once I get the last star in the second world's Traffic Attack those three will be the only ones I'll ever S-Rank, because the rest have a Pursuit mission (the third world has two of them, how fun).

Also, I found out that my Xbox remembered the fact that I had the Metal Sonic and Outrun Bay DLC when I had it on disc on the Xbox 360, so I can't wait to play those tomorrow. On a related note, does anyone know where to find the playtime for a game on Xbox? I know the console keeps track of play time as I remember checking it for Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 once, but I can't seem to find it in since they changed the layout. I have a suspicion that it was removed, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it did.

Personally, I didn't find Pursuit that hard, doing it with my twin sister too so I don't know if it's easier or harder because that means both of us have to dodge the obstacles. We took it very, very slowly, the hardest part of it is the part where it spawns the flaming orbs and after that, the walls are easy to dodge and you can even break through them with missiles. Traffic attack on the other hand is more difficult for us.

Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War

No! Lewyn! You're supposed to be with Ferry, not Sylvia! Claude's already all over her, the man of the church has spoken!

Seems only Midir and Aideen really understand how to make an ideal relationship. God.

technically rayman origins yesterday but im planning on playing spore shortly anyway so ill talk about that
a few days ago i spontaneously realised i really wanted to start another playthrough and so i did! i didnt plan anything out but i got diplomat!
here they are theyre weird birdish amphibian-ish things
unknown.png

went back to my ecologists space game and took over some systems of the empire i was warring (because they wouldnt stop attacking my system) and. it was surprisingly kinda fun?
anyway after that i realised i could do a few more playthroughs to finish getting the archetypes i havent gotten in my playthrough spree back in like november. i techincally have one of each already but you know might as well get a bunch more. the diplomats coincidentally ended up fitting here too! im currently going through one for bard, then ill do trader and knight!
as a lil challenge for the bards i forbid myself from using eyes (which didnt affect that much actually) and changing the mouth from the early creature one so i only had level 1 sing and bite to go with. it didnt affect me that much either!
heres a pic of em in creature stage handing a wood stick to a wood person

ill have proper pics of it up later on my art thread

Mario Party 2

It felt like a close finish, I kind of ran away with it in the last 5 turns with golden mushrooms but there was a good chance for the Easy AI to beat me when it got the bank pile of 97 coins and it was likely going to use that money to steal my star, also it might have had the happening star and definitely had the coin star. Anyway it worked out because it got lured into the middle by a star and then the laser went off and it lost 117 coins. I lost 67 coins earlier in the game but it was a fair trade because I landed on a battle space, consumed all the coins everyone had and then cast them into the void.

I realised the Easy AI always gets second place because I spend 40 turns beating down the hard and normal AI because they can kind of be threatening so the Easy AI gets to run ahead of them safely because I allow it to.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

All these grimy online fuckers are using the heavy + wiggler atv combo and still losing because you actually have to be good at the game first. It's actually kind of funny how seeing that kart now teaches me they are not a threat, the people riding it out with their favourite combo are going to know what they're doing. Baby Park is a terrible, terrible stage. Excitebike Arena is even worse, at least Baby Park is short so I don't have to put up with it for long, Arena is just straight garbage. I do enjoy the occasional 200cc stage but I've forgotten all my strategies for them from a year or two ago so I'm basically just winging it, the only one I remember is needing to literally come to a stop on the first S turn in Rainbow Road because I will go flying if I use the mini-turbo boost. I really loved 200cc when I knew each stage well but it just sucked that there was no 200cc seperate mode for online so I couldn't just go and play it.

Super Mario 3D Land.
I'm rearranging the courses by theme of world. And making clone courses into Missions for the Course.

What do you mean rearranging the courses? From my experiences you just play them in order and get any% then the special worlds open up and you do the same until you reach 100%
